           "Look at him, it's summer, yet he's still wearing this lousy scarf." Someone pulled off Luke's scarf, then started spinning it in the air.

           "Hey! You give that back!" Hailey ran towards the other boy.

           "Hailey!" Luke yelled when she tackled the other.

           "So, this happened because I wasn't here for half a day?" Alexander asked as he put a bandage on Hailey's palm.

           "Sorry, I tried to make them stop." Luke said, scratching the back of his head.

           "Uh-huh?" The purple-haired sighed as Hailey sniffed.

           "T-they took Luke's scarf, I just wanted to give it back to him since your mom made it for him." Alexander now knew where she was coming from and smiled.

           "Our mom, Hailey." Alexander put a hand on her shoulder. "Alright, let's go to class." He helped her up, and put an arm around her shoulder.

           The three walked towards the door.

           "Oh? You're leaving already?" 

           "Yes miss." Luke smiled at her.

           "I see, may I see your hand, Hailey?" The nurse asked, Hailey showed her palm. "Was this the only injury you got?" Hailey nodded. "Here you go, a lollipop for enduring the pain from the alcohol." She gave Hailey a strawberry lollipop, which earned her a cute smile from the youngster.

           "Shouldn't you be back in the library, writing your stupid songs?" The same boy from this morning told Hailey. "What a freak, you did this to me!" He pointed to his cheek where Hailey accidentally scratched him.

           Alexander who was sitting with Luke on a bench nearby stood up and walked in between them.

           "You did that to yourself actually, you took my best friend's scarf that's why she attacked you, and what she writes aren't stupid songs, they're really good and are perfectly structured, that's what you say as you don't even know how to read musical notes, shame." He crossed his arms.

           "Zander..." Luke called out.

           "If you don't want to get hurt, back off." He glared. "Boys like you are unbearable-"

           "Why are you defending her, do you want to be labeled a freak like her? Her voice breaks even before she starts singing, it's embarrassing-" 

           "Listen to what I have to say!" Alexander has had it, he walked towards the other and hit his forehead against the other boy's head. "Unbelievable." He sighed. "No matter what happens, you don't hurt girls, and you don't even know her too well to start calling her a 'freak'."

           The other boy looked at him, tears welling up in his eyes.

           "Listen here, she's my sister, and if you have problems with her, you have problems with me, got it?" He huffed and turned his back to see Hailey and Luke smiling at him. "What?"

           "Zander!" Hailey ran towards him and hugged him. Alexander just froze on the spot.

           "You're so kind Zander." Luke smiled at him, and the purple-haired blushed. "Thank you."

           "You sure took your time saying goodbye to Jake." Alexander said with a raised brow. "What were you guys up to in your room, anyway?"

           "Don't be so paranoid, Zander." She said amused. "We were just talking, and it's none of your business." She crossed her arms before turning her back on him and walking away.

           "She's growing." 

           "Hush Luke, she still didn't thank me for headbutting that guy with a large forehead who took off your scarf without permission, back in middle school." He huffed.

           "But I did thank you, right?" Luke kissed his cheek. He blushed. "You were so brave, that's one of the things that I love about you."

           "Hmmph, whatever..." The purple-haired leaned on Luke's shoulder as they sat and watched the TV in comfortable silence.
