"So Mabel" exclaimed Natalia. "Boyfriend?" She asked sipping her drink. Jamie fake gasped and wrapped his arm around Mabel."Natalia dear can't you see she is mine. I mean how hot we look together" he joked causing the table of people to chuckle. Joe simply stared at Mabel while everyone laughed, not an expression present on his face, Mabel caught his stare and rolled her eyes.
"Well no, no boyfriend. Just one prick of an ex" she smiled sweetly. Joe's face dropped at her words and she smiled knowing she was getting the response she wanted.
"Oh tell us more. I love drama, as long as it doesn't involve me" Maya laughed. Mabel sipped her wine and sighed before starting the story, obviously leaving out the circumstance from the past month knowing Beau would catch on too quickly.
Joe spent the entire story looking down at his hands fiddling with the ring placed on his right hand, he felt guilt build up inside him at her words, was he really that bad of a boyfriend? Mabel finished the story, and her third glass of wine, and the rest of the cast were eagerly waiting to bombard her with all the questions they had. Somewhere during the story Jamie had reassuringly placed his hand on her thigh noticing her getting more stressed as the story went on. This earned them an extremely disapproving look from Joe, who had rolled his eyes the moment he saw it. Joe had noticed the way Mabel was consuming her drinks like there was no tomorrow, noting how previously she'd said she was sober, which made the fourth glass of wine in her hand set off concern for her well-being.
"Wait so he proposed?" Exclaimed Maya. Mabel nodded her head slowly. "Like on one knee, marriage proposal?" she added. Mabel nodded against mumbling a 'yep' as she could feel Beau's eyes burn into her, at this point Mabel wasn't sure if Joe had been honest with Beau, because the way she was staring felt a little too knowing.
"And you said no?" Joe K asked. Mabel shook her head sipping her fourth wine before answering him.
"Technically I never answered" she shrugged. "He made the decision for me really, I said I had a big part in a movie and he had to work back home so he simply walked out on me" she mumbled. The table fell silent for a moment and Mabel could feel Joe's gaze burning into her skin, she swore she could feel the tension so strongly in the air that it was going to swallow her.
"What would you have said, if you didn't have to leave?" Charlie asked hesitantly. Mabel shrugged and looked down pondering what she would have said, she never put much thought into it because Joe decided for her. Joe eagerly waited Mabel's response, unlike Mabel he had pondered what would've happened if she didn't have to leave.
"I can't really answer that because I honestly don't know." Mabel chuckled, her eyes caught Joe's for a moment, he seemed disappointed at her lack of answer. On the other hand Beau was staring her down, anger seemed to radiate off of her, she wasn't sure what her problem was but she was going to find out.
"Well I think for one he must regret his decision to leave you, because Mabel Mae that is a dress" Keery joked, Natalia playfully kicked his leg under the table giving him a scolding look.
"After the girl pours her heart out and all you can do is hit on her, low blow Joe, low blow" she warned. Keery threw his hands up in defence and mumbled something about shooting his shot before Joe abruptly stood up, everyone's eyes falling on him.
"I'm just going to go to the bathroom" he announced leaving the table. Conversation flooded between the cast, them all taking about how Mabel would get to meet some of the 'kids' of the cast tomorrow as that's when they all fly back in. Mabel listened in to the conversations before excusing herself to go outside for some fresh air. Jamie's eyes rested on Mabel while she walked away, he couldn't help but feel sympathy towards her, she was lovely yet the world was against her.
