Mabel, Joe and his mum were sitting in Mabel's kitchen, the air thick with tension.

"How was your flight?" Mabel asked while she made some tea. Her expression soft ended as she looked to Mabel.

"It was lovely dear. However there was some celebrity on the plane, caused girls to squeal." She shook her head.

"Crazy! Did you see who it was?"

"Oh yes I spoke to him actually, I asked him who he was because I didn't recognise him." She chuckled. "His named was something styles? I can't quite remember" Mabel's eyes widened as she realised who his mum had actually spoken to.

"Harry?" She exclaimed. His mum nodded aggressively mumbling yes. Mabel squealed slightly. "No way" she chuckled.

"See that's the expression all those other girls had towards him. He informed me he sings, he's wonderful" she smiled. Mabel turned to Joe who also had the most confused expression on his face.

"Are you hearing this! Your mother met Harry styles and you're calm" she laughed. His mum gave him a scolding look, making him afraid to open his mouth.

"Okay you two" Mabel sighed slamming her hands on the table. "Can you just speak to each other?" She sighed. Him and his mum just looked at each other saying nothing, both their faces blank. "Right well I guess I'll start" Mabel groaned.

"We have established what happened in Paris was neither of our faults, Beau weaselled her way around everything so we wouldn't know." She exclaimed. "As for yesterday" she swallowed. "We've talked about it, I have chosen to get get over it." She stated.

Joes mums eyes met hers, full of shock for a moment.

"So what does this mean from now on?" She asked softly.

"Mum, this is my girlfriend Mabel" he teased pointing his hand towards Mabel who smiled at the memory of the first time.

"Is this serious this time?" She asked sympathetically. "I love you both together but Joe, I've seen Mabel cry over you more times than I'm willing to remember" she sighed. Mabel's stomach knotted at her words, his mum noticing her face fall. "This isn't about you Mabel, I want no one else for Joe but you. This is about your mental well-being." She added. Joe wished in that moment that the world would open up and swallow him whole, his stomach knotted and he sighed getting up from the table.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you both" his mum apologised, Mabel knew she never intended to upset Joe but she also knew that there's wasn't a way around the conversation without doing it.

"It's okay, I understand your concerns, I had them too." She sighed sitting down with her tea. "I think you should talk to him, the guilt wasn't easy for him, and I'm not saying it should've been, I definitely don't agree with what he did but I wouldn't be here if I didn't think he was truly sorry" she sighed. His mum looked at Mabel, who was simply staring at the mug in her hand, she noticed the glimmer of gold around her neck.

"Is that Joe's chain?" She asked warily. Mabel's eyes snapped away from her mug and she smiled pulling the chain from under her shirt so it sat on top of the fabric.

"Yeah it is" mabel mumbled. Joes mum smiled, her knowing exactly how much that simple piece of metal meant to him.

"That was his grandfathers you know, he never took it off after he died" she said softly. "I think you're right. I need to talk to him and apologise, I shouldn't have let myself talk to him like that" she smiled softly getting up and heading towards the bedroom where Joe was.
She knocked on the door softly.
