Sagitarria's POV
Lavadia's stride kept her two steps ahead at all times.
Never stopping, never slowing down.
Always moving, her eyes locked ahead, making as much noise as she could.
"Sapphire!" She called, beckoning to her enemy.
I, on the other hand, was on full alert. My eyes darted around nervelessly, ready for a fight.
"Sapphire~"
Her calls soon took a daunting tone, haunting the almost empty arena. "Lavadia, maybe we shouldn't be wondering around. Lets track her."
Her dull eyes lowered with sleep as the sun began to peek over the horizon... if its even real.
"I don't feel so good." She sighed, stopping in her tracks, finally.
Closing her eyes she pinches the bridge of her nose. "Not good at all."
"Lavadia?-" I start, but am cut short with her body tumbling to the floor.
Rushing to her side I prop her up, laying her head gently on my lap. "Lavadia! Are you okay?"
"Shit." She hissed, her eye brows knitting together. "It's coming!" She yelled, as her water broke.
Panic screamed at my nerve endings. "Coming? I can't.. I've never done this!" I yelled, looking around frantically.
With a muffled scream she gripped the grass, lifting her head from my lap.
"No! No, stay still!" Shifting my position I moved to get a better angle at her, "I have to take these off." I motioned toward her pants, which were in tatters, stained with blood.
With only cries of pain as an answer I began to cut away the pants from her legs, removing the senseless strips of fabric.
By the time I was done and had collected my thoughts, the sun was in the sky, blazing at full temperature.
The baby was already visible. The pills worked, a little to well. With a scream from Lavadia I took her hand, "I'm going to need you to-"
"Push, yeah I know." She finished, breathless.
Gritting her teeth, she began the long process that awaited us.
The tears and screams lasted for about 10 minutes, masking the sound I should have noticed long before.
The light steps in the crumpling leaves, the wind, misplaced by something new in its path.
The light laughter that carried a gentle smile.
"Looks like it sucks." The voice cracked, dry with dehydration.
My head whipped around in a haze of dark hair, only to be met with the blue eyes of Sapphire, who stood in the light by a large oak tree, watching the spectacle in front of her.
Her hand gripped the bloody hammer like it was a severed appendage that needed to be sewn back on.
"Sapphire."
"District 7."
A cry from Lavadia ripped the long silence that followed the not so warm greetings.
My hand slowly found the knife at my feet, gripping it with a sure hand.
It's kill or be killed.
