"I'm Glitchy, and I'll ruin your beloved technology!"
"Not on my watch, you will!" Brad remarked, assaulting the fleeing Gremlin with the Spirit Sucker 5000 until it was gone. He then went back into the Anteroom, where he spotted the spirit he was after in mere seconds, as it came out with a loud cackle.
"Looking for me? I'm Rocky, now watch as I soar around you and escape!"
It did indeed soar around Brad's head, almost like a flying squirrel. After shaking off a bit of dizziness, he quickly vacuumed up that little pest and sent away the data. Through with that, he walked inside the Wardrobe Room, where his Gremlin Radar started going off like crazy, telling him there was another spirit nearby.
"Inside that wardrobe..." Brad said, looking at the middle one in the room. Brad went over to it and randomly gave it a karate chop while saying: "HIYAH!"
"I just felt like Melody would do that if she were here."
Sure enough, another Gremlin came out, just cackling away like it heard the funniest joke in the world.
"Wanna play some...GameToon Advance?" It questioned Brad, spinning around in a circle, dancing away.
Silence floated around the room for a couple of seconds, then was broken when Brad fell to the floor, holding his stomach and rolling around. Tears fell from his eyes as he let out unrestrained bursts of pure laughter, making the Gremlin stop spinning and grin.
"Well, I'm glad my joke was successful!" It cackled some more, pleased with how amused Brad was right now.
(5 Minutes Later...)
The Gremlin looked at its pocket watch as Brad was still laughing, slamming his fist against the floor repeatedly and kicking his feet around.
"I appreciate the good feedback, but are you ever gonna stop laughing? It...it really wasn't all that funny. It was just a little pun." It asked, staring at Brad.
By now, the rabbit in question managed to calm down, letting out a few more laughs before standing up again.
"A little pun, yes, but it was a good one." Brad replied, looking at the spirit while holding a thumbs up.
"Thank you. Now then, shall we proceed with moving this story forward?"
"Yeah, we really should, so..." Brad said, pointing his vacuum at it. It tried to escape, but resistance was ultimately pointless for it as the Gremlin was sucked in like the others.
"Ok, that's eight Gremlins. Now to head on over to the Washroom."
As he went for the door, he couldn't help but laugh some more at the Gremlin's joke walking through the Anteroom, then the Parlor, and finally arriving at the Foyer. After calming down again, he made his way into the dark hallway, shining his flashlight to guide him. Suddenly, a ghost dropped down from the ceiling, getting right in Brad's face, guffawing wildly. A girlish scream ripped right through his throat and exited his mouth, making him run ahead of it and hide behind another corner.
"Come on, Brad, get a hold of yourself!" He said, feeling embarrassed of himself, but still in pure trepidation.
As he continued his trip to the Washroom , he spotted a candle floating through the air! It just went back and forward, as if someone was carrying it.
"I don't know who's carrying that, and quite frankly, I don't feel like finding out!" Brad rambled, walking faster away from that candle.
Soon, he reached the Washroom and Brad grabbed the doorknob, wondering if it was still occupied. Fortunately, the door was unlocked and he walked in, noting that it was dark inside. However, the sounds of something, or someone crying caught his ears. Looking ahead, he spotted a robotic blue rabbit next to the toilet, who he knew as...
"Aqua? Is that you?" Brad asked, shining his flashlight at the robot in question.
The robot looked up, digital tears running down her purple eyes.
"Brad!!! Thank goodness you're alright!" Aqua said, feeling happy to see him.
"Yeah, I am. But, why are you crying?" Brad asked, getting down on his knees to look at her.
"Because...I, uh...I dropped something REALLY important into the toilet! I didn't mean to drop it, Brad!" Aqua wept loudly.
"Don't worry about it, Aqua. It's not the end of the world!" Brad said, trying to calm her down. "Accidents, no matter how big or small, will happen. No need to beat yourself up about it."
Aqua seemed to immediately cheer up at the black and white hero's words as she jumped back onto her metal feet.
"Ya know what? You're right, Brad! No point crying over spilled milk!" Aqua said, hugging Brad.
"That's right." He replied, returning the hug.
"I'll just flush that old worry away. Yup, I'll let it swirl on down into the depths and let happiness return to my life!" She smiled.
At that moment, the lights came back on, literally brightening the mood.
"Now then, let's see what you dropped in here to begin with." Brad said, lifting up the seat and peering into the toilet. "Hey, it's another key!"
Brad stuck his hand into the toilet and fished the key out. Even though it was soaked with water, it still sparkled. Aqua handed him some toilet paper, which he dried the key off with. Afterwards, he came across some dollar bills and took Professor Nicole's advice to heart by splashing his face with water in the sink. It proved to be quite refreshing!
He then told Aqua to send a message to Doda and Boda saying she was ok, and said his goodbyes as he left the Washroom. Mere seconds after stepping out of that door and Brad was back to his usual scared self. He trekked through the hallways, going to his next destination: the Fortune Teller's Room. Upon reaching that door, he unlocked it and looked around. Shining his flashlight everywhere, he found that the room would suit a fortune teller down to a T! Waddling over to the center of the room, he spotted a crystal ball sitting on a desk. Curious, he shined the light on it, making it glow. The glowing got brighter and brighter until it revealed a ghost sitting behind it!
"SKIN ME ALIVE AND TURN ME INTO A STEW, IT'S ANOTHER GHOST!!!!!" Brad screamed, nearly fainting.
After laying on the ground shaking for about 4 minutes, he stood back up and scanned the ghost's heart with his watch.
"Ok, this is Madame Trixie, the greatest fortune teller who was ever drawn! Her age is unknown, but her close connections to the spirit world let her see 50 days into the future! I'll admit, that's pretty cool!" Brad exclaimed.
"Destiny chooses the paths we take..." Madame Trixie spoke suddenly, nearly sending Brad into cardiac arrest. "What...do you seek of me, young one?" she asked our rabbit friend in her mysterious, ghostly voice.
"Who are you?" Brad asked, wondering why he did seeing as how the watch just gave him that answer.
"I am Madame Trixie, seer of dropped items," The bat girl ghost revealed. "Possessions of other Toons waken vibrations in my spirit..." Her transparent gloved hands hovered over her crystal ball in a majestic manner. "If you find someone's dropped items, you should bring them to me. I will show you the extent of my vision..." She finished before disappearing again.
Lightning flashed outside from a window, making Brad jump a little.
"Ok, note to self, find stuff that someone, which I'm guessing in this term are my friends, dropped and bring them back to her. I guess I'll catch her later then." Brad murmured, shrugging.
He then spotted another door and opened it, heading into this new room. Once he did, the door slammed shut and was blocked off by more of those thorny vines from earlier! This made Brad tremble and chatter his teeth.
"I've got a really bad feeling about this." He said, letting out a shaky sigh.
What would he be facing now? Stay tuned to find out when Chapter 12 is finished!
