Hope's POV
The next day, mom was at school and I was spending the day with Derek. He was helping me with some training when suddenly we both heard people walking into the house.
"Stay hidden Hope, don't move," he says as he leaves.
But that's the thing though, uncle Derek doesn't know about me or my life before mom and I came to Beacon Hills. He did ask how mom was able to control him even if she's not his alpha but mom didn't tell. I stayed hidden until I heard Kate my 'aunt' with Derek. I hear uncle Derek fall to the ground and I was pissed.
"Nine hundred thousand volts. You were never good with electricity were you? Or fire? Which is why I'm gonna let you in on a little secret and well, maybe we can help each other out. Yes, your sister was severed into pieces and used as bait to try and catch you. Anyways, this was unpleasant. And a little too Texas chainsaw massacre for my taste. But quite true. But here's the part that might really kick you in the balls." Kate says
I gulp as listen in the conversation.
"We didn't kill her." She concludes
It goes quiet for a few minutes. Derek doesn't answer and I don't know but hope that he thinks she's lying.
"You think I'm lying," she questions.
"Wouldn't be the first time." Says Derek
I was confused though, did Derek know Kate? I hear nothing for a few minutes and then Derek groan in pain. I grab my phone and send a message to mom saying that Kate was hurting Derek. Mom replied she'd be there in 2 minutes and exactly 2 minutes later I heard Kate groan in pain. I ran downstairs and saw that there were two men on the floor unconscious and mom was holding Kate in a head lock.
"You tell your brother, Kate that if he or any of the other hunters come after Derek or my daughter there will be problems. Now grab your men and leave." She says as she pushes Kate to the floor.
Kate looks up to her in shock. Moms red eyes glow and Kate gasps
"Your..." she stutters
"No, I'm an alpha but not the alpha your going after so I suggest you tell your family that Hayley Andrea Hale is back and if you mess with one you mess with all. Now leave." She says with a straight face.
Kate quickly got up and took the other men as she left. I heard her car drive away as I ran to Derek and helped him up.
