BRANDY huffed as she sat down in the makeshift booth, "Sorry I'm late, got caught up talking to Ms. Kelley," The girl frantically places her items on the floor next to her, smoothing out her cheer skirt. "Booth looks nice," She told the girls next to her.
"Tracie and Chrissy set it up," Tate told her as she counted the dollar bills in the red metal lock box.
"Should've known, you two always set up for parties." Brandy smirked over at the girls beside Tate. "Have we gotten many sales?"
"Few people came by and got tickets, then again it's only the morning, so we'll probably be getting more when the freshmen hear about it." Chrissy shrugged.
"Not many seniors," Tracie said confused.
"They get prom, sophomores and seniors don't normally go to homecoming." Tate reminded.
"We had a few!" Chrissy defended.
"Yeah, Munson, Carver, and Buckley." Tate scoffed as she places the money back into the box.
"Oh my God, you missed it, Brandy!" Tracie bent forward, catching the blonde's attention.
"Can we skip this conversation?" Chrissy whined in embarrassment.
"Jason stopped by to buy two rose tickets and made a whole grand gesture asking Chris' to hoco," Tracie giggled. "It was the sweetest thing."
"He's a real sweet guy." Chrissy smiled to herself.
Brandy debated telling Chrissy or Tate, maybe even Tracie, what happened at the Halloween party. Somebody besides Eddie, but the teen decided against it, her comfort in a nondisruptive and unproblematic environment took away her urge to tell them what kind of person Jason was really. Instead, she just smiled and nodded gently, "That does sound sweet, Chris'." Brandy told her.
"He's not the only one to buy a rose ticket you know?" Tate whispered to Brandy.
"Buckley finally find herself a nice guy?" Brandy chuckled.
"No, she bought two regular tickets." Tate wriggled her eyebrows. "Eddie bought one," She smirked at Brandy.
The girl looked at her feet, bashfully. "I'm sure it's for somebody else," She said offhandedly.
Brandy wasn't an idiot, she knew it was a very real possibility that the ticket was for her. Hell, it was one of the only possibilities. But there was an inkling in the back of her mind, an annoying little voice that said or was for somebody else. She saw the things in his room he poorly hid, she knew he knew other girls besides her. Girls that would probably swoon if he gave them a rose ticket. The question was: Was she being irrational?
"I doubt it," Tate laughed at her. "Because he asked if you were going."
"That doesn't mean anything." Brandy muttered.
"You're really stupid for a smart girl, you know that?" Tate rolled her eyes.
"I think I scared him off," Brandy admitted, rubbing at her collarbone.
"How?" Tate laughed. Brandy looked at her annoyed, "I'm sorry," the girl quit laughing, trying to contain her comical disbelief.
"I kind of kissed him when I got drunk," Brandy quietly confessed so that the other two girls didn't hear of her mistakes.
"What?!" Tate whispered, looking at her wide-eyed as she gripped at her friend's arm. "When?"
"Halloween," Brandy squeezed her eyes shut in embarrassment.
"Have you talked about it? What did he say?" Tate questioned rapidly.
"Why does everyone keep asking that?" the blonde groaned.
