This had become a routine for us.

Preparing for a full moon, at first, it was impossible for us to hide from the moon successfully whether it was reflections, miscalculations, or just pure idiocy; younger us couldn't stay away.

Thankfully things changed as we got older; we were fully equipped to reinforce any base we were in to be completely moon-proof, plus as we got older and experienced more moons the moon's pull dwindled its effect. We no longer felt the urge to see the moon as we did before.

However, the compelling mystical force of the moon still affected us no matter what, so even if we could avoid it the danger still stood.

We all sat down in a huff, Isabelle sat in the chair opposite the sofa, me and matilda were branched out on the floor which was covered in blankets to hide shiny floors and keep our feet warm. Our windows were completely blacked out lined with newspapers and big bags.

Even though we had the house lights on I still liked to carry a candle around with me, for effect.

Our base was limited to downstairs only.

We were allowed in the living room and the bathroom next door that was it. We could not risk anything.

"Right moon night equals movie night, what shall we watch first?" matilda asked grabbing the tv remote off the side table, I hummed in thought raking my brain for movie ideas.

"Night of the walking dead?" Isabelle suggested making me grimace, I was down for horror movies any other day of the month but a full moon come on.

"Seriously Issy, I like horror movies doesn't mean I want to be in one," I remarked, think about it three girls have a secret, one night while hiding from their selves they get trapped in their house with a... MURDERER!! We are basically the plot of a 90s horror movie, and I'm not trying to bring that idea to life in any way.

Yeah, no thanks.

"V! there's something behind you." matilda mocked casting a look of fake fear over her face, which made both the girls burst into laughter. I rolled my eyes snatching the shared blanket off matilda and wrapping the rest around me.

"Ha ha very funny" I spoke flatly giving the laughing girls a fake glare.

"Why do we even ask that question, we are just going to end up, watching the barbie movies again aren't we? "I remarked pointing at the tall stack of DVDs in the middle of the room. once the laughter died down they also stared at the stack in the middle.

"I know but it makes me feel weak giving in to those films so easily they have a hold on us" matilda sighed eyes cast over the DVDs. we murmured in agreement we were slaves to the barbie movies.
