Sense

Turtle's eyes widened. No. It couldn't be, he thought. "No..." He whispered. "No did you ask any SkyWings if they saw her?" Wondered Turtle.

"I'm sorry?" Moon asked, confusion spreading across her snout like wildfire.

"Have you asked any dragons if they have seen her?" He repeated. As he asked the question, his eyes narrowed.

"No, but I read their thoughts and none of them had anything related to Kinkajou being gone." Turtle was so busy talking to Moon that he didn't realize he was was walking and talking. Ever since they defeated Darkstalker, Turtle learned how to deal with his anxiety and jump into action when it was needed. And now it was definitely needed. This was Kinkajou. His girlfriend. His love. His future partner. And now she was missing. Normally he would freeze but since it was Kinkajou he jumped right into action.

"Then how did you find out she was gone?" Turtle wondered, his heart pounding harder against his chest.

"Because she left this," whispered Moon. Turtle stopped running and faced the NightWing. In her talons she held a squared up note with the word 'Turtle'. "I walked over to the place where she slept hoping to find her but all I found was this. I know I shouldn't have touched it but I was so curious so I opened it. But I'm glad I did because now we can catch up to her and convince her to not go," she explained.

Throughout the whole time Moon was blabbering, Turtle was focusing on that note. What was on it? Whatever it was Turtle now knew it wasn't something sweet. Dear moons please don't be a sucicde note, Turtle thought. Oh moons! What if she made this whole elaborate plan just so she can kill herself. No. Turtle. No. Kinkajou is smart but not that smart. But I have to know what's inside that note.

With a sigh, he extended his talon, motioning for the note. Moon looked at him then handed it. "You're not going to go after her...are you?" She whispered. Her green eyes glistening with tears.

"I will when I find out where she is heading."

"Well you won't find it in there," Moon sighed. "But read it. Qibli and I will always be here if you need to talk."

Moon handed the note then stalked off to go find Qibli. Once Turtle was sure she was gone, Turtle checked to see if anyone was here. As he searched, he found the halls dead silent. Bit even the wind dated to come in. Turtle turned around and sat down, staring at the letter like it was a bomb.

Whatever was in this letter was something that was going to break his heart. But he had to check it. He had to know why Kinkajou left. If he was the reason why then he would be broken. But there was only one way to know for sure.

With that, he opened the letter and braced his heart for impact.

Dear Turtle,

I know you must be wondering why I ran off. And I know that it is causing you hurt and trouble but I'm sorry. You know I love you but at the same time I must tell you that I lost feelings for you. Yes you have been a great boyfriend and all but I'm tired of you being cowardly and slow. I just need someone better. I hope you can see this as a learning experience and not as a pain. Anyway best wishes

P.s I'm running away

Turtle put down the letter, staring at it like it was alien. This doesn't sound like Kinkajou. Like my Kinkajou. This doesn't make sense. Where's that tone that Kinkajou portrays? Where's the no capitals? Where are the Grammer issues? Where are the spelling mistakes?

No.

This was not Kinkajou. So that means that Kinkajou did not run away. No. It was much worse. She was taken. Turtle sat up immediately and started to run in the direction that Moon went, hoping to find the NightWing.

Although...one question still remains. If Moon read the letter why didn't she know that the letter didn't sound like Kinkajou? Isn't Moon like her best friend? That didn't make sense.

Save that question for when you find Moon, Turtle thought. His eyes narrowing. Either Moon had something to do with this or something else. If she did then she was going to pay, but he hoped with all his might that she didn't.

Once he finally found Moon, he almost gagged at the sight. Sitting right across from her was Qibli, grinning like there was no tomorrow. They must have been in the middle of.... something....

"Moon, how come you didn't know the difference?" Turtle questioned. His teeth almost barring. If he didn't stop his protective instincts he would have attacked her right then and there. Thankfully Qibli caught on then stood in front of Turtle and Moon.

"What?" She squeaked. Her eyes rounded in surprise.

"You gave me this note after Kinkajou left."

"Kinkajou left?" She gasped. Her green eyes grew even wider as if it was the first time she heard the news.

"If...you don't know what I'm talking about... then...who gave me this note?" Turtle wondered, flinging the note at Qibli's talons.

Moon looked down the picked up the note. Her talons trembling as she read it. "What do you mean, Kinkajou left?" Wondered Qibli.

"I mean Moon ran up to me yelling and crying because she couldn't find Kinkajou and she gave me that note telling me that she left me this," he explained.

"I never ran to you with this note," Moon said.

"Then someone took her. Someone took Kinkajou and pretended to be you. But...why? Why make a letter so awful targeted only to me and take Kinkajou away?" asked Turtle.

"Maybe they wanted to hurt you," Qibli muttered.

"What?!" Turtle gasped. Oh no did I offend someone in some way. Oh moons. It's one of my brothers isn't it? "Why would anyone want to hurt me?  I mean, what did I do to anyone?!"

"I don't know..."

"Wait! Peril talked about how she felt like someone was targeting her. She told me that something wasn't right and that she felt like they were after me now," Turtle said. Qibli and Moon gave each other skeptical looks. "Okay look, has anything else been happening to Peril? Or to you guys? Right now it's only been me and her," he explained.

"I mean it does seem possible," agreed  Qibli.

"Then...who could it be?" Moon wondered. Turtle sighed then looked off into the distance. I don't know..., He thought. But whatever happens Kinkajou...I will find you. And I will bring you back. I promise you that.
