At the Wheeler's basement

After spending the day at the hospital, the group decided to spend the night at the Wheeler's basement to plan their next movement and stay alert, even if it was all okay by the moment. They didn't know when Vecna would return.

Jonathan and Nancy were again at Nancy's room. Argyle decided to stay in his van (maybe because he felt comfortable there, smoking, without two annoying teenagers making drama in the middle of the night).

Lucas and Dustin took the couch, El took the sleeping bag and finally, Mike and Will shared the mattress to sleep.

It was another normal sleepover, just like all the past sleepovers they had.

Or that's what Will was repeating to himself in his mind to not get nervous.

Will was on the wall side of the mattress, almost on the edge, Mike was on the opposite side.
It was like a mattress for three people, due to the empty space between them. It was actually a bit awkward.

Will really didn't want to mix his feelings with Mike's friendship anymore. His love for him was just growing and growing, but he knew he didn't stand any chance.
He wouldn't even try, he didn't expect absolutely anything from Mike in a romantical way. He had already given up.

Maybe it was better that way.

And, with all those thoughts in his head, Will fell asleep.

Mike noticed Will was still being distant from him, even to sleep.
He didn't understand the reasons why Will was acting like that. Mike was confused, and he was more confused about the way Will's behavior made him feel. Mike was upset about it.

But he wouldn't say anything about it anyway. Maybe Will was just protecting himself from being vulnerable again….

Mike turned around to see Will. He was sleeping on the edge of the mattress.
He noticed Will didn't even move the sheets from the bed to tuck himself into them. The night was cold, so he didn't hesitate to bundle Will up on his blankets, carefully.

A few minutes later, Mike also fell asleep. They were both really tired to even try to stay awake.

A few hours later

Will suddenly felt he was no longer where he was supposed to be.
The atmosphere felt strange, hostile. He opened his eyes and saw a blurry red sky.

He was standing in the middle of a thunderstorm.
The air felt heavy, the wind raised a lot of dust.

He had already been there before.

Will touched the back of his neck, he could feel something.

Even in the midst of the storm, he could hear someone's breath.

Will slowly turned around, frightened. Vecna was standing there, behind Will.

Will met his eyes, and then Vecna raised his hand above Will's head.

- Will…- Vecna said

Will was speechless. He was terrified to say anything. It was the first time he had seen Vecna face to face.

- Wh- What do you want? - Will asked, frightened.

- I want you to join me.

- Let me go! - Will exclaimed.

- Don't be afraid, Will. I just need you to see… - Vecna said

Will's mind was suddenly empty. Everything went dark for a few seconds until the visions appeared.
