The groups had already left to start phase one.

Nancy, Steve, Lucas and Hopper were in their respective gates, ready to cross to the upside down, and so were their partners.

El was at the Hawkins Library with Max, who was sitting in the doorway with her walkie-talkie.

Mike and Murray were in the fields, preparing the antenna.

And, finally, Will and Argyle were at the cabin.

Will was so mad, the ones who were getting to the Upside Down wouldn’t even check on the right places because they didn’t want to listen to his suggestion, cause they said it could be a trap. And, honestly, Will didn’t even believe himself, so it was understandable.

But he needed to clarify his suspicions.

Will discreetly grabbed the walkie talkie that Hopper left them on the table and removed the batteries.

- Hey Argyle, this walkie talkie isn’t working. - Will said.

- How 's that? It 's new. - Argyle said, confused. He was a little high.

- Try it - Will said, throwing the walkie talkie to Argyle.

Argyle tried to turn it on.

- Oh, you’re right. It doesn’t work. Must be the batteries. - He said

- I think the guys bought some extra batteries for the walkie talkies. I'm gonna check on the car. - Will replied.

- Alright then. - Argyle said.

Will got out of the cabin and opened the car door. But he wasn’t looking for batteries, he was looking for protection and a weapon.

His escape plan had been easier than he thought.

He put on some protectors, took a gun and left. He would probably be back there in less than twenty minutes.

- Nothing at the Byers’ former house - Hopper said through the walkie talkie.

- Neither at the Lab. - Nancy replied.

- Still checking the Creel’s house - Steve added.

- Be careful, Steve - Nancy said.

- Lucas, how are you doing there? - Hopper asked.

- Nothing in the trailers - Lucas replied. - Only one left to check. - He said.

- Alright then, we’re leaving in a few minutes, are you all ready up there?

- Yes. - Joyce, Jonathan, Dustin and Robin answered simultaneously.

- Max, can you hear us? - Mike said, checking the connections in Cerebro.

- Perfectly. - She answered from the library.

- Alright. Will, Argyle, is everything all right there? - Mike asked.

There was no response.

- Will, Argyle, is anyone there? - He asked again.

Mike looked at Murray, worriedly.

- I lost connection. - Murray said to Mike. - They must be okay, otherwise they would have already contacted us.

- Probably. - Mike replied, hesitant.

Meanwhile, Will crossed into the Upside Down through the open gate on the street. It had been so easy for him to distract Robin with a rock to get in there.

So, as Nancy told him, if the Upside Down’s Hawkins was frozen in time, he was closer enough to his old house to get his bike and go faster.

He went there and when he arrived, he saw Hopper leaving the place.
