15 - Back To The Future

Four days later

Will had been hospitalized for an, unexplainable for the doctors, failure in his nervous system.

His health was really fragile the first two days.

Mike kept visiting him in the hospital, even if Will wasn't even awake.

He always carried some sweets, pencils and notebooks for Will, waiting for him to wake up.

He told him fantasy stories and also planned new campaigns to play when Will got back.

Mike just couldn’t stop thinking about everything he had pending with Will. They had to share all those moments again, they had to fix their failed holidays.

But still nothing happened, and Mike just couldn't help but feel really afraid.
But he needed to be strong, for Will.

The following two days, Will started to get better.

The doctors even said that he really wanted to live, that Will had woken up much earlier than expected. Like a miracle.

When Mike knew about it, his smile could light up Central Park.

Finally, the next day, Will was finally at home. He would have to stay there and rest for, at least, a week, until he fully recovered.

But Mike couldn’t wait that long to see him again.

At the cabin

Will was sleeping in his room.

Joyce already got a new job and Hopper was doing the final paperwork to be the chief of police again. He could easily "come back to life" under the excuse of being trapped in the Upside Down.

El was taking some extra math classes in the afternoons so that she could do better when they started school again.

So, Jonathan stayed at the cabin looking after Will in the afternoon.

Suddenly, someone knocked on the door.

Jonathan opened the door and saw Mike on the other side, holding a big box.

- What are you doing here with that? - Jonathan asked. - Will’s sleeping now. - He added.

- Oh, I’m glad to hear that. It’ll give me time to prepare everything. - Mike said, breaking into the house.

Jonathan was just confused.

- Uhm, prepare what? - He asked, as he saw Mike untangling some wires from the box.

- Movie night. - Mike replied. - I won’t wake him up, I promise. Please?- He said, asking for permission to enter Will’s room.

Jonathan agreed, and then warned Mike one more time not to wake Will until he did it himself. Then, he carefully opened the room’s door and let Mike get in.

Mike entered the room and closed the door, carefully leaving the big box on the floor and walking over Will's bed.

Will was there, just sleeping. But it was a beautiful sight for Mike, considering that the last time he saw him, he was still at the hospital with tubes and IVs.

Mike sat next to Will’s bed and gently stroked his cheek with his little finger.

- I knew you could make it. - He whispered, smiling.

Then, he started to prepare everything before Will woke up.

He grabbed some pillows and blankets from the closet and asked Jonathan for some more pillows from the couch.
