It was 12 o’clock in the morning, outside the cabin.

The group met for their 3rd practice. They were really improving their fighting methods.

Will was on the field, determined to try something riskier.

He set some old cans at distances of 20 to 30 meters from him to try his shooting accuracy.

As he prepared his weapon, Hopper appeared behind him.

- When did you learn? - He said

- Sorry, what? - Will replied. He couldn't understand Hopper's question.

- To use the gun. When did you learn? - He asked.

- Oh, when I was like ten years old, maybe. - Will answered.

- You were too young! You still are! And you know perfectly well how to prepare that gun, kid. - Hopper said, a little surprised.

- Well, I guess my father at least did something good then. - Will replied

- Good? Teaching a ten-year-old kid how to use a weapon is not good, kid. But at least it has been useful for you.

- To be honest, the last time I took one of these was when I was being chased by a monster from another dimension, and guess what, it ended up being useless because  I got trapped anyway. - Will said, with a little laugh. He used to cover his tragedies with humor to make them less painful.

Hopper sighed.

- And now? - Hopper said

- Now what? - Will answered

- Do you still feel it's useless?

- Well, let's see. - Will replied. His gun was ready to fire.

He raised his gun and pointed at the first and closest can.

Then he fired.

Almost perfect, but he didn't throw the can away.

- First shot in years, so it wasn't bad, kid. Do you want some advice? - Hopper said

Will nodded.

- First of all, take out all your nervousness. You control the gun, the gun doesn't control you. Second, don't focus too much on the pose, focus on the blank. If you had to do a fast shooting, the pose will not be important. - Hopper suggested. - You got this. - He added

Will smiled.

- That's true. I'm gonna try again then. - He replied.

- Just pretend I'm not here. - Hopper said.

Will pointed again to the second can. It was three meters further than the first one.

He focused on the blank, took control of the gun and then fired.

A perfect shot.

- Easier than I thought. - Hopper said, proud. Then smiled.

- Oh, I'm a fast learner - Will said, smiling back.

They high-fived.

Then, Will tried to shoot the rest of the cans.

He aimed at the third of them and fired.

Another perfect blank.

He quickly dumped all the cans in the field.
The shot's sound could be heard from a great distance.
