Chapter 12

Kalen spends the remainder of the trip to Zevil Island bandaging the cuts on his hand, because one, the constant stinging was annoying and two, if the cuts got infected that would be even more annoying. 

"Thank you for your patience everyone! We've finally arrived at Zevil Island! Please disembark by the order in which you completed the Third Phase. After the person in front of you disembarks, please wait two minutes before proceeding after them. Everyone will be staying on the island for a week, and within that time you must acquire six points worth of ID tags in order to pass this phase of the Hunter Exam! All right, the first person may begin!", the lady on the ship says with and awkward and forced smile. 

After she explained, Hisoka left the ship and headed towards the forest. Kalen waited exactly two minutes before following after him. 

He was pretty sure this phase would give him absolutely no trouble, considering he already knew who his target was, and if he never ran into him he could always just kill three other applicants instead. The only thing he really had to do was to find a place to sleep. Despite being able to go multiple days without sleeping, or eating for that matter, he hadn't slept in nearly a week. Unless you count the mere hour he slept on the airship. He should probably also find some food, but he supposed he could go a few more days without any substance.

Kalen decided to pointlessly wander around for a while, in hopes of finding someone to take a tag from. And it was definitely his lucky day because a random examinee practically ran right into him, which ended the poor guys life in an instant. He had four points now, only two more left... And he still had a whole week, haha. He laughed to himself slightly, he wasn't here for a mother fucking vacation but it wasn't like he was going to complain at all. 

Continuing to explore the island, Kalen finally found a cave that would be good enough to sleep in. First he'd get his points then he'd return and take a nap. A perfect plan. 

It hardly took him half an hour to find two more people, kill them, and then take their tags. Now he could basically catch up on every bit of sleep he ever missed for the rest of the week. Heading back to his cave, Kalen lay down on the ground and pretty much passed out in a span of seconds.

Kalen was disappointed to wake up and realize it was only noon the next day, he hadn't been able to sleep though the entire week. What a shame. With a weeks worth of time on his hands he may as well take a look around the island. 

He decided to walk along the riverbank, and this went on for quite sometime as he got lost in his thoughts. Eventually he some noises and decided to see what it was. Upon getting closer Kalen realized that it was none other than Gon. Gon who was currently throwing his fishing rod at a bird. What the actual hell was he doing. 

To give the green haired boy some credit, he had managed to learn Zetsu pretty quickly, and-- whatever this "hunting technique" was. A bit later, Gon decided to attach a string onto one of the red butterflies that were gathering around him. After the boy left, Kalen was about to head back before noticing someone following Gon. Probably the person hunting him. Should he kill the man? Or he should wait and see how Gon would deal with it himself, it wasn't like they were aquatinted so he wasn't obliged to help him at all. 

He decided to just continue following Gon, to see what he was up to, considering he was already quite bored. Eventually Gon stopped, having found whatever he was looking for. Kalen quickly climbed up a tree to see who was the person Gon was targeting. He nearly fell out of the tree when he saw who it was. It was fucking Hisoka, that damn magician who kept bothering him at the Trick Tower. Haha, Gon may have to say his last words today. It could be entertaining, he might as well stay and watch...

Uh so I finally got my computer to work again, hurray. Here's a new chapter, I'm sorry it's so short though. 

Anyways, my upload schedule will probably be once every few days or once a week because my school starts on the 18th and I'll probably have less time to write. 😔
