Mephiles groaned inwardly, first his brother and now his father. Oh, who he wondered would appear next. He watched with glee as his minions -- a.k.a the dark hedgehogs since Scrouge was by his side next to his throne, winning. Dark Sonic pinned his attacks mainly on Nic, Mighty and Knuckles while Dark Silver found himself fighting Slicer. Meanwhile, Black Doom watched the battle and kept an eye on Eclipse who remained in a staring contest with Mephiles.

“Argh!” Knuckles flipped Dark Sonic before he could cause any more damage to Nic who was holding his side in pain from his counterparts' spin attack. “Pathetic!” Dark Sonic chuckled, throwing Mighty against a nearby cage. Scaring the daylights out of Amy and Rouge. Thankfully it wasn’t Ray’s but that didn’t mean his brother wasn’t watching. Slicer soon found his enemy a lot more complex but Dark Silver used an attack which left him openly vulnerable. Whipping around Slicer gave his uncle a signal. Eclipse smirked mockingly bowing at his brother, “Well I would say our time staring at each other has taught me something?”. “And that is?” Scrouge asked, making his father inwardly groan. “How easy it is to distract the other side's leader while learning a weakness of the minions”.

Manic, Rouge and Sonia looked at each other in confusion. Yep, they all agreed. Eclipse was off his rocker, he was crazy. Mephiles leaned forward intrigued in his brother's words but soon a look of horror casted over his features as he realised what his brother really meant. The king dived forward just as a small orb left Eclipse 'hand and collided with Silver knocking him out of the air and making his body plummet to the ground. “Silver!” Blaze cried out with Amy. It had to be about a 20 foot fall. Thankfully, a flash of light appeared, saving the white hedgehog.

“Nice catch!” Nic jokes, avoiding Dark Sonic’s punch. Knuckles nodded at the cyan hedgehog, looking down at the echidna watched the darkness leave Silver and his grey fur was soon replaced by its pure white. “NO!” The yell of Mephiles made a smirk appear on the freedom fighters' faces but they soon turned into frowns as a purple wave knocked everyone off their feet. Black Doom disappeared in a stream to get some help.

Eclipse groaned, shaking his head, he made to stand when something hard hit him in the back of the head. A foot soon connected with his side before Eclipse was thrown across the room, the freedom fighters watched as Eclipse’s body connected with the cage and slumped to the floor. Eclipse didn’t move at all. This majorly worried the freedom fighters. Dark Sonic chuckled, moving to stand beside Mephiles and Scrouge.

Mighty, Knuckles, Slicer and Nic moved to stand in front of Eclipse’s downed body, and gently Knuckles placed Silver against Blaze’s cage, allowing the cat to assess her friend. The echidna called on the chaos emeralds but frowned when they didn’t respond to him; instead they disappeared in a flick of light. “How disappointing? Do you really think you have what it takes to defeat me?” Mephiles asked sincerely while laughing. Scrouge flipped his sunglasses up onto his head, leaning slightly on one the cages, “Did you really think an old hedgehog, a powerless young hedgehog, a arrogant armadillo and a guy who seriously needs a haircut, could defeat us?” Scrouge mocked them, pointing at them all. Knuckles looked the least impressed. Mephiles enjoyed teasing his enemies; he just didn’t expect to hear a pop behind him as the seven chaos emeralds appeared and a small hoglet landed behind them all.

Oh no! Knuckles screamed inwardly, behind Mephiles wall was Shade. For some odd reason the chaos emeralds had made the small hoglet they had all come to care about so much appear in the middle of a major battle.

“Now what do we have here?” Scrouge wondered, watching as his father walked over to the hoglet which looked oddly familiar. Mephiles reached down only to gasp that the hoglet was protected by a chaos forcefield of some sort. Shade looked around the room and spotted her father.
