"Come on Y/n! We have to hurry and get to the gym."
"I'm right behind you!"
"Well hurry, you know how grumpy coach Washijo is!" Rose exclaimed as we neared the gym, picking up her pace as she ran.
I sighed, picking up my own pace as I speed walked after her, not wanting to run.
I stared down at the camera in my hands, not so sure how to work the thing. I didn't really get a normal photography class like many others in previous years. So I wasn't very confident when it came to taking pictures or sharing or so called skills.
Rose ran through the door, jogging up to coach Washijo as she bowed down in respect offering an apology and explanation as to why we were here. I idly stood around beside her as I decided to look over at the volleyball players finishing up their warm ups.
"I'm sorry sir, we're a part of the photography team and we need to take pictures of the volleyball team for the yearbook!" Rose said, sharing an awkward glance at me, I all but shrugged my shoulders, I was more on the quiet said anyways.
"Fine! Just don't take too long." The coach grumbled as he turned away from us to look at the members of his team.
"Listen up! I want you all to help out these two girls and do as they say, okay? They're here to take your pictures for the yearbook." He explained to the players as they all turned to look at us.
Rose thanked him as I began to walk closer to her, heading to the tall group of players.
"Why hello! Care to take my picture first?" A red head questioned, stepping up to us as Rose quickly agreed.
"Great," I internally groaned as I wasn't a professional, they'll probably end up blurry.
I figured it was best to at least try, not wanting to get an ear full from my teacher's brutal judging.
"Hey, maybe I could be your model?" A boy asked me, soft voice as he approached me from behind.
I turned my eyes, lifting them away from my camera as he stepped into my view, now standing by my side. He was tall, and had ashy blonde hair with slightly darker tips at the end. We smiled as he stared at me down, brown eyes looking straight into mine.
"Oh- umm," I hesitated, feeling embarrassed at how handsome he was, sharp attractive features with a sharp jawline catching my eyes as well.
He chuckled, "You don't have to be nervous, I won't bite."
"That's not it, I'm not really that good..."
"Really? Why not give it a try then?" He smiled even more as he quirked his eyebrow up.
"Fine!" I huffed as I rolled my eyes lifting the camera up in my hands closer to my eye to look through the viewfinder.
I heard the player with the jersey number 3 laugh as he tried to block me from hearing, "What?" I asked, annoyed.
"I don't want to sound rude and tell you how to run your job, but I think you need to take the cap off the lens." He smiled as he hinted it out, pointing at the front of the camera as he watched me lower it back down with wide eyes.
"You know what, how about you stand over there instead, wait, what's your name?"
"You don't know who I am?" He asked in disbelief as his smile began to fade.
"Sorry, I don't." I confessed as I waited for him to tell me his name.
"Semi, Semi Eita."
"Great, well then Semi Eita, I want you to stand over there." I replied, trying to get over my previous embarrassment from a few seconds earlier.
"Okay," walking over near the court, he positioned himself beside the net, the volleyball net being in the background, "What do you want me to do now?"
"You're the player," I shrugged as I let him choose a pose to do for the camera.
He eventually chose a pose quite fast, holding a volleyball in the center of his palm as he lifted his other hand, as if he were about to throw the bag into the air and spike it over the net. I liked the button, the shutter going off as it captured the scene.
I lowered the camera, away from my eye as I pressed the playback button to look at the image. I was quite surprised at the outcome, it didn't look so bad, it actually made Semi look better as the lights shined down on him, casting shadows on the body parts that didn't need to be in as much focus as the rest.
"Looks a little too good for a rookie," he simply stated as he voiced my own thoughts. Standing in front of me as he looked down at himself holding the volleyball.
"Yeah right," I chuckled as I doubted the teacher would be happy with my work, since she always had some sort of criticism to share.
"Let's get you some more," he smiled as he walked to the end of the net, sitting down to stretch, waiting to hear the sound of the shutter go off so he could change positions once more.
It went on for about half an hour, and it wasn't until then that I realized I had only been doing a photoshop of Semi himself and didn't take a picture of any of the other players. I smacked my forehead as I felt bad for Rose, since she had to do a bit more work.
"Well that was nice, I hope I'll see you again." Semi smiled as I bid my goodbye since Rose and I had to head back to class.
"Thank you!" I smiled as I waved goodbye one last time catching up with Rose as we walked back to our photography classroom so other students could go and take pictures of the remaining clubs.
