Third Person POV

Julie was finishing up her makeup when she heard a knock on her door.

"Jules? Are you done? We're gonna be late!"

"Yep! Coming!" She opened the door revealing El, standing there already dressed.

"You don't have any shoes on.." El sighed thinking about how she could've forgotten to put on shoes.

"Right! One sec." She rushed back into her room and grabbed her red sneakers, putting them on and tying the laces.

"You done in there?" El asked impatiently.

"Yeah- sorry-" Jules replied.

They told Hopper they were leaving and left the Cabin.

-Time Skip-

Lucas, El, Mike, Will, Max, and Jules began to sneak up behind Dustin once he paused and picked up the toy in pure confusion.

"WELCOME HOME!" They all chorused before Dustin jumped and turned in fear, spraying pepper spray in Lucas's eyes.

Lucas yelped in pain as everyone else backed behind him to protect themselves from the spray.

"Dustin!- It's just us!" Max spouted, leading Dustin to lower his weapon and apologizing to Lucas for scaring them.

He then offered to let them use the sink to help clear the spray out of his eyes, then led the others upstairs to his room to show them inventions.

"I call it... The Forever Clock." Dustin stated, twisting the handle to the creation and making the wings spin.

"Powered by wind, very useful in the apocalypse," Dustin explained, the others examining the invention he made.

"Then I give you..." He began, taking out a hammerlike creation. "The slammer." It started to shake up and down in motion, once he turned it on. "Pretty neat, huh?" He said, turning the machine off.

"But this.." He proposed, now in a more excited tone. "This is my masterpiece." He added, kneeling, along with the others, all of them sitting on the floor.

Dustin unzipped a bag that was laying on the floor in between them. "Cerebro." He announced.

"What exactly are we looking at here?" Mike questioned.

"Is it some kind of... unfinished robot??" Julie asked, looking deeper into the bag.

"It's an unassembled one-of-a-kind battery-powered radio tower," Dustin explained still sounding excited.

"So.. it's a ham radio," Will added.

"The Cadillac of ham radios." Dustin began, "This baby carries a crystal-clear connection over vast distances, I'm talking North Pole to South," he informed. "I can talk to my girlfriend whenever and wherever I choose!"

The group looked at each other with a surprised looks on their faces. "Girlfriend?!" they exclaimed.

Dustin zipped the bag closed, stood up, and left the room, the rest following.

"So wait, her name is Suzie?" Mike questioned, walking rapidly as the others were too.

"Suzie with a z, she's from Utah." Dustin confessed, walking through the living room.
