Vicky, Ashley, Mary and I watched in boredom as Freddie – being the perfectionist as usual – kept wanting to do more overdubs of "seven seas of rhye" until he was completely satisfied with it. There was a girl lying, asleep on Roger, with his arm around her, no surprise there.

"Try bouncing us left and right on the 'ah-ah-ahs'" Freddie explained. "Now dead center for the last." Brian said. "Then blast it!" Roger stood up and yelled over the music.

The band went into the recording box, while the rest of us either watched them or sleeped. I made the occasional eye contact with Roger but instead of the winks of faces he'd look away as did I.

Ashley, Mary, Vicky, the girl Roger brought and I fell asleep for awhile until I woke up and saw a man enter the room. "Who are these kids in the box?" he asked. "Some student band doing weird stuff" he explained.

I overheard some of their conversation, but was too tired to really pay attention. I woke up again when we were ready to leave. I got my stuff and was about to leave when I felt someone gently, grab my wrist. I turned my head in the direction of the person to see Roger. I sighed and wriggled my arm free, I crossed them and waited for him to speak, as he looked at the ground. "I'm sorry" he mumbled. "Sorry. What was that?" I asked, with a firm look. "I'm sorry" he apologized, speaking up louder and looking at me. "For what?" I asked. He rolled his eyes and sighed, "for scolding you about dating James. I was being a hypocrite and I'm sorry. You're allowed to date whoever you like. I hate fighting with you." he smiled, sincerely, I smiled back. "Fine. I forgive you." I rolled my eyes and smiled. He brought me into a hug for a moment, before we pulled apart, departed ways and walked home.

When i got home, Ashley was cooking and Vicky was looking in confusion at how Ash was cooking. "Just teach me!" Vicky said. "No. It's not my fault I'm a better chef than you." Ashley rolled her eyes. "But what if you're not here and I need to cook. Alice is a shit cook. She's absolutely hopeless at it, I, however can learn if you'd just teach me!" Vicky explained. "Thanks so much I appreciate it" I walked in and sat on the kitchen stool. "Are you genuinely trying to tell me there some hope you'll ever cook?" Vicky asked, knowing she won. Bitch. "Fair enough" I shrugged. "Exactly. Teach me right now." Vicky gave Ashley an intimidating look. Ashley sighed. "Fine, I'll teach you tomorrow" Ashley gave in as she set the food on the plates. Vicky smiled in satisfaction and thanked her, walking over to help Sara into her high chair.

"So why did you come home later?" Ashley asked. "Because, mum, Roger wanted to apologize" I said, simply. "So did you forgive him or are you still in a fight?" she asked. "Forgave him." I said, taking a bite out the food.

A while later, I was in my room, continuing the song I was writing when I heard the telephone ringing from the living room. "Alice! It's for you!" Vicky yelled. I walked into the living room and took the phone. "Hello?" I greeted them, waiting to see who it was. "Hi. It's James" he said. "Oh. Hi, why did you call?" I asked, awkwardly, not really sure of what to say. "Just wanted to know if you're free next Friday?" he wondered. I thought about it for a moment, before answering. "Yeah I'm free next Friday" I confirmed. "Would you wanna go out?" he asked, I picked up the nervousness in his tone. "Sure. Where?" I smiled. "Not sure yet I'll think about it." he answered. "I know where we could go if you'd like." I offered. "Okay I'll see you next Friday." He said. "Okay, bye" I hung up and smiled.

"Was that James?" Vicky asked, turning on the record player, as Ashley tried to get some sort of alcohol from the shelf. "Yeah." I confirmed. Ashley fell from the counter, but was determined to save the alcohol. "The alcohols okay!" she announced. I was fighting back the urge to kill myself with laughter. Whereas Vicky started laughing which set me off. Ashley rolled her eyes, and winced in pain as she rubbed her head. "It wasn't that funny" she said, as we continued to laugh.
