I was at the shopping centre with Mary helping her pick out something for Freddie's birthday, it was sort of last minute since she had been extremely busy with work and organizing a dinner at a fancy restaurant and a party for him, that she forgot a present.

"I can't believe I remembered a reservation and a party but not a bloody gift" she huffed, looking at all the aisles to pick out something that screamed 'Freddie Mercury'.

"I'm sure he'll love whatever you get him. Besides that reservation and part wasn't cheap at all" I pointed out.

"I know, but it's still his birthday I half to get him a present" she sighed, looking dissatisfied with everything she saw.

"You've already done so much. What about this?" I asked, holding up a shirt that was basically designed for Freddie.

"How did you do that?" she asked, with a look of shock and relief.

"I've been looking at this stuff for ages and nothing stood out to me" she said, taking the shirt from me and examining it.

"That's because you're too stressed to really like anything. Just relax a bit" I smiled, looking at other things.

She smiled over at me, before we made our way to check out.

A few hours later, I was sitting on the couch, a cigarette between my lips, reading a book, as Roger was out getting a takeout, since both of us were shit at cooking.

I kept glancing up at the clock and waiting for the telephone to ring. Mary told everyone to just go over to the party near nine o'clock.

It was half seven right now, so I still had an hour and a half to have dinner and get dressed.

Ten minutes later Roger came bursting through, soaked from head to toe, due to the rain with bags of food.

"Jesus, it's raining cats and dogs!" he blurted out, setting the bags of food on the table, I helped him out with the plates and stuff.

"Well this is perfect UK weather" I shrugged, slight sarcasm in my sentence, but a lot of truth in it, receiving a good-natured eye roll.

"We seriously need to learn how to cook, we're gonna get fat and die" he said with a straight face albeit the sarcasm was dripping from his voice.

"Well, that's the best way to die" I said, my face also straight, as I leaned up to peck his lips, before walking into the kitchen for cutlery.

"So, what did Mary get for Fred's birthday?" Roger asked, munching on a chip, covered in curry sauce.

"Well, she was struggling to pick something out but she eventually picked out a shirt he'll love" I told him, covering my mouth to hide the food I was eating and the fact that I'm a messy eater.

We chatted for a while longer about work and things, as we ate.

When we were finished, we helped each other clean the dishes, since that was something else we weren't exactly experienced in.

We started to get ready, I wore that same black dress I wore a few nights ago at another party. These parties were becoming more and more frequent.

When we arrived at the building, some people were already drinking. And by some I mean Fate, Vicky and Ashley at the bar. I walked up to them, as Roger made his way over to Brian and John.

I went up and ordered my drink before sitting on the bar stool.

"Well, fancy seeing you here" Vicky said, looking towards me. "How was things with Roger when you got back home?" she asked, crossing her arms and shaking her head in a joking manner.

"Things were fine. How are you and River getting on?" I asked, switching the subject successfully.

"Things are fine" she shrugged.

I nodded and walked towards Fate. "And how are things with you and that pretty blonde?" I asked, lowering my voice, to not catch the attention of anyone that had no business knowing.

"I got her number!" she replied, grinning. I smiled and looked up at Ashley. "Do I need to ask how things are with Eddie?" I asked, knowing full well her answer.

"Not likely" she shrugged, sipping on a gin and tonic, hiding a smile.

We chatted for a few moments, before the door swung open and in came Freddie and Mary.

"Happy birthday!" everyone yelled.

Freddie looked around, smirked then typically asked. "Where's the booze?"

There was shots lined up all across the bar, everyone taken them, I stood next to Roger, Mary and Freddie as we drank our shots of tequila.

My throat burned at the sensation of the liquid sliding down my throat.

Freddie stood up clanking his glass, grabbing everyones attention. "Thank you, darlings, for an excellent birthday, and I hope everyone returns home absolutely pissed out of their minds" he announced, making everyone laugh and cheer.

I was standing with Ash, Eddie, Vicky, River, Fate, Veronica and John, while Freddie and Roger were over at the other side of the room, having, what looks to be, a private conversation.

I was curious about what they were chatting about, but brushed it off, since it was none of my business.

The full night was just getting drunk, which wasn't helping with the hangovers at all, but oh well, that's tomorrows problem. Or at this point a few hours problem.
