Danielle woke up with a headache so fierce it felt like her skull was cracking open—an inevitable consequence of the whiskey she so recklessly downed last night.
Groaning, she buried her face into her pillow, pulling at her hair as if that would somehow lessen the pain. She writhed on the bed, rolling dangerously close to the edge before catching herself at the last second.
"Fuck," she muttered, wincing as her dry throat protested against the single word.
Forcing herself up, she rubbed at her droopy, red-rimmed eyes, only to be interrupted by a knock on her door.
Before she could even croak out a response, the door swung open.
"I'm coming in—I don't care if you're naked or just plain stupid," Chenle announced, stepping inside with zero hesitation.
Danielle barely had time to register the intrusion before the male omega burst into laughter.
"Take a picture; it'll last longer," she grumbled, glaring at him through the curtain of her disheveled hair.
"Should I?" Chenle cackled, and she promptly flopped back onto the bed, ignoring him.
"Hey, get up. It's lunchtime." He jabbed at her side repeatedly. "Come on, I ordered chicken."
Danielle perked up slightly. "Do we still have soju?"
"Brat," he scoffed before smacking her ass. "Get up."
"Chenle," she whined.
"What?"
Rolling onto her side, she propped herself up on one elbow and smirked at him. "What if I send some alpha to smack your ass instead?"
Chenle's face flared red. In retaliation, he kicked her right off the bed.
"What the hell—GET UP!"
Danielle hit the floor with a thud before breaking into laughter.
Later, the four omegas sat together at a café near the library where Renjun had been studying earlier. The conversation was light, ranging from upcoming assignments to last night's party.
Danielle, however, was only half-listening, her mind still sluggish from the hangover. Her frappe's straw was lazily caged between her teeth, her eyes glazed over as she absentmindedly stirred the drink.
The only thing that snapped her back to reality was Chenle's sudden loud call of a specific name.
"Hm? Are you guys close?" Haechan asked, glancing at the alpha approaching their table.
Chenle chuckled, shaking his head. "We're classmates, you know."
Mark stopped in front of them, his presence effortlessly commanding attention.
"Hey," he greeted, his gaze sweeping over the group.
"Hello, Pres!" Chenle beamed. "I was just wondering about Professor Kim's missed discussion. Has she said anything about rescheduling?"
