The two just stared at each other, neither knowing what to say.

Danielle bet that the blush on her cheeks made her look even more flustered, while Mark stood up from the couch when the omega stepped out of her door.

"I'm so sorry for cutting your moment," Chenle interrupted with an exaggerated grin, "but is this supposed to be like those romantic scenes where your heart beats fast, and there are flowers around you the moment you lay eyes on each other?"

Mark and Danielle immediately looked away, the air shifting into awkward tension.

Chenle cackled. "I'm joking! Gosh... unless?"

"We're going! Don't invite other people over," Danielle threw a warning glare his way as she grabbed her purse.

"Where are you staying the night, by the way?"

"I'll drive her home, don't worry," Mark offered with a small smile.

"Yeah, I'll text you. You don't need to stay up, though; I'm bringing my key."

"Danielle!" Chenle called before she could step further.

The omega turned back just as he beckoned her over. As soon as she was within arm's length, he pulled her close, lowering his voice to a whisper. "Did you take your pills?"

"Uhh, no. Why? Is it strong?"

"Stupid, I don't care if the whole house will smell like flowers and honey. I mean... pregnancy pills."

"What the fuck!" Danielle exclaimed, shoving the male omega in shock. Chenle, however, just burst into laughter.

"Is there something wrong?" Mark quipped, raising an eyebrow.

Danielle threw the heaviest glare she could muster at Chenle before turning to Mark with a forced smile. "Nah, let's go. We don't want to be late."

She pushed the alpha out of the dorm and slammed the door behind her.

On the way to Mark's car, parked just outside the omega dormitory, Danielle noticed him stealing glances at her. She almost lost count of how many times he looked her way.

She couldn't help but grin, biting her lip to stop herself from saying something that might ruin the moment.

The truth was, she liked being checked out—especially by him. Danielle had always known she had something that drew people's attention, but there was something different, something special, about being noticed by Mark Lee.

"Now you're staring at me," she finally pointed out.

Mark laughed, starting the engine. "I'm sorry if that made you uncomfortable. It's just... you look good."

"Really?"

"Yeah," he nodded, sparing her another glance. "You look beautiful in that dress. The natural look suits you best."

"Okay, you can stop now."

He chuckled, fixing his eyes back on the road. "You still can't handle too many compliments. You should be used to it by now."

"Why? Are you planning to compliment me every day?"

"Do you want me to?" He smirked slightly. "I'd be willing."
