It was old news that Mark had been driving Danielle back and forth to the dorms.

At first, only a few students had noticed them arriving together in the alpha's car every morning, but rumors spread quickly. Soon, nearly the entire student body was aware of their close interactions.

Some speculated that their closeness was merely because the omega was friends with the alpha's sister. Others, however, argued that there was something more—something undeniably intimate. They had seen it with their own eyes.

The truth was, Mark and Danielle were never a secret.

The alpha had always prioritized Danielle before anyone else, and now, it was even more evident. He was often seen with her, whether it was in the hallways, the cafeteria, or after class. Their classmates had become accustomed to witnessing their dynamic every day. Some viewed it as an unspoken, yet obvious, classroom romance.

Naturally, questions arose. Were they officially together? The answers, though indirect, were telling.

Danielle would simply respond with, "The alpha is courting."

Mark, on the other hand, would smirk and say, "Soon."

Despite this, the competition to get their attention never ceased. Alphas and omegas alike still made their moves, as long as there was no outright claim on either of them.

And that was exactly why Mark had become increasingly overprotective.

He had taken it upon himself to scent Danielle, marking her as his even without a formal claim. It was a silent warning to anyone who dared to approach her. And Danielle? She never stopped him.

Her inner omega thrived on it.

There was a distinct pride in being pursued—having an alpha so devoted, so possessive. It was intoxicating.

"I'm not done yet," Mark hummed as he shifted to the other side of her neck, planting soft kisses against her skin.

"Markie, please," Danielle whined, though there was little resistance in her tone. "My friends told me I don't even have my scent anymore."

"Then that's good, isn't it?" he murmured, his lips brushing against the shell of her ear before he licked a slow stripe along her earlobe. "You'll smell like an alpha. No one will dare steal you from me."

"But don't you want to smell my scent anymore?" she asked, tilting her head slightly.

Mark froze at the realization. His brows furrowed, and his expression turned thoughtful.

"Fine," he huffed, reluctant but willing to compromise. "I'll tone it down. But!" He pulled her impossibly closer, his grip around her waist tightening. "It's just for me. Only I get to smell you like this. Only I get to be this close."

Danielle chuckled, pressing her forehead against his. "I understand."

His lips quirked up, satisfied with her answer, but then she added, "You said you had a meeting?"

Mark groaned, as if just remembering. "Yeah. I also can't drive you home today."

"That's fine," she reassured him. "I still have the boys with me, remember?"
