The class had their memories erased and were allowed the rest of the day off, so Denki and Hitoshi took Hikori to a small café so they could talk. As Hikori drank his Iced chocolate, Hitoshi sipped on his coffee while Denki took a full on gulp of his iced coffee, instantly regretting the decision due to a brain freeze.
"So...?" Denki began once he recovered.
"So what?" Hikori answered.
"Ready to tell us why you were so upset earlier?"
"..." Hikori shrugged and stirred the straw in his drink, mixing the chocolate sauce around more and avoiding eye contact.
"Hikori." Hitoshi said flatly. "Whatever it is; you can tell us. There's no need to hide it from us. So? What's up with you and MT? You said you confessed to him?"
"... Yeah I did, but..." Hikori trailed off. He wasn't quite sure if he could say. "I dunno... All I did was confess my feelings to him and- and I think I fucked up our friendship..."
Hitoshi and Denki remained silent but the sad expressions on their face exposed their concern.
"I said I loved him but all he said was no." Hikori continued. "He said I couldn't love him. That I shouldn't love him because of what his ex, Rayne, did to him in middle school. Apparently that altered his view on relationships. I want to show him that not all relationships are like that and I can be proof of that but he refused to listen to reason..."
"Have you ever thought that maybe he was in shock or in denial of his own feelings?" Denki replied before taking a sip of his drink, careful not to give himself another brain freeze.
"... No... I guess I was to busy trying to tell him I loved him..." Hikori stopped stirring his drink and took a sip, continuing to avoid eye contact. "I'm an idiot... He probably hates me so much now and will avoid me for that fact..."
"I doubt he'll refuse your friendship because of a simple confession, Kid." Hitoshi replied as he finished his coffee. "Sure things may be awkward but it's just part of growing up; you get shot down but you just have to get back up."
"Easy for you to say!" Hikori retaliated, slamming his hands on the table. "You and Dad accepted each other at first ask! You don't how I'm feeling right now! You don't know the feeling of rejection!"
Hikori stood up and ran from the cafe. When he thought he was far enough away, he slowed to a walk. He showed his hands into his Eraserhead themed hoodie and kicked a stone across the path, causing other people to manoeuvre around him instead of the opposite.
As he walked, he heard a voice or two. Stopping in his tracks, he looked up to see two kids following a male with curly pink hair and yellow horns. Noticing the two boys were antagonising the pink male, Hikori jogged over. As he got there, he heard the boys taunt the other.
"What cha going to do, huh?!" One said. He had black hair and matching eyes.
"Come on! Tell usss to ssstop!" The second said.
He looked like a a humanized snake. He kinda reminded Hikori of a 1B student; Makoto Hideaki.Just as the snake guy pushed the pink skinned male, Hikori jumped forward and grabbed him by the collar.
"What the fuck do you think you're doing?!" Hikori cursed. "Leave him the fuck alone!"
"Why do you care?!" The black haired kid snapped back.
"Does it matter?! Just piss off!"
The two boys ran off and left Hikori with the other boy. Hikori turned towards the male and helped him up.
"You OK?" Hikori questioned only to receive a nod in return. "I'm Kaminari Hikori. What's your name?"
"..." The boy held up his phone and pointed to the message he typed on his notes app.
"Ashido Eli... It's nice to meet you! Aren't you Pinky's kid?"
The boy nodded and held up his phone after typing once more.
(Bold is what Eli is typing)
"Yes. Pinky is my mum. And just so you know; I'm mute."
"No problem man! Are you alright?"
"I'm fine, thanks..."
"Do t sweat it! Oh! Pronouns? Just so I can get it right..."
"He/Them."
"Cool! He/Him for me, just so you know!"
"..."
"Sorry...! It's a habit! I have a Non-binary friend and I'm also friends with a Genderfluid guy. Girl...?! Come to think of it; I don't think I've spoken to Kohei for ages!"
"What do you mean?"
"Huh? Oh! Sorry! Just thinking out loud, don't worry about it...!"
The duo stood awkwardly with each other until Eli turned and tried to leave, Hikori raced over to catch up.
"Why are you following me?" Read the message Eli showed the older boy.
"Because I, A. Don't have anything else better to do, B. I don't want those fuck wits to bully you again and C. I ran out in my dads."
"Why'd you run from you dads?"
"Geez... We're asking those kind of questions, huh? Well... I kinda had an argument with them over my feelings for a boy and shit. Nothing to get concerned about. My relationship with my parents is a bit wavy at the moment."
Eli watched as Hikori placed his hands behind his head and closed is eyes as he talked. Eli liked Hikori. His personality was certainly interesting and he seemed to have a lot to say. Even though Eli wasn't really the verbally social guy, he still liked to listen when others talked.
The duo continued to walk in silence until Eli reached his stop. He turned and waved and Hikori just smiled and made sure he got in safely, even though he didn't really have to as a tall male with blond hair and purple eyes, wearing a silver belt around his stomach, came out and guided the boy inside.
Hikori turned on his heel and decided to head back to the dorms, texting his papa on the way. Putting his phone away, Hikori decided that he needed to face the embarrassment of the awkward situation between him and Irei. Whether he liked it or not.
