Leaving

I told Friday that I needed some time to think about the offer but what I really meant was that I needed time to reevaluate and set my priorities straight and I think he realized that but I needed time to think, do I really want to start dating him with the potential of drama and competition?

I still didn't know how much he respects his female counterparts, though he hadn't disrespected me in anyway so far and he did handle himself at the dinner, I still had to be cautious, that bitch tia looked like she would do things and she didn't look like she had gotten over Friday yet but the real question is, had he truly gotten over her? I didn't know their story but if I am to get involved with him I had to know that he was down.

I was currently sitting in the hotel room with my suitcase open mid packing and typing at my laptop at the same time, I was pre writing an email to my boss just in case I accepted Friday's offer but still had to prep to leave the state because it was our last couple of days here. This month flew by fast and to think that I may not go back to my old life was crazy.

Onika already had her things packed and was currently on a date with Kai, she was spending as much time with him as possible because she didn't know what's going to happen to them after they get back to life, he's starting school in two weeks time and she's leaving the state in a couple of days and I had no problem with that.

My phone dinged on the bed and I looked over to see a text from my dad.

Daddy👻🤓💕: hey pumpkin sorry for being so busy this month, had alot going on with school and then I had a major surgery to prep for... How is your trip?"

I cheesed at the text, my dad was my favorite person, my hero, I knew that he was busy and he had told prior just in case he wouldn't text or call so often.

I picked up the phone and dialed his number, I needed to speak to him anyways.

"Hey sweet heart" he greeted, his gruff voice holding a hint of tiredness in them.

"Hey dad... My trip is amazing thanks for asking I have lots to tell you plus am making a huge move and I need your advice" he chuckled on the other end at my rambling but I couldn't help it I loved talking to my father.

"Go on baby girl am listening"

"Okay.. I may or may not be dating again and I may or may not have a job offer in Miami for a year" he went silent for a minute before sighing.

"Well will I ever meet this lucky man? And what kind of offer is it" I knew his stress I was his babygirl and Matthew really did a number on me so to put myself back into that was nerve racking I guess.

"I mean I would want to see this play out for the long run first before I introduce you, you know boys dad and I don't want this to be a waste of my time"

"I understand sweetheart, just let him know that you a have a father that injects people and plays with knife for a living" he threatened and I laughed but I knew my dad was serious.

"I know... And for the job offer I'll be an artist's financial advisor, I get all the benefits you can imagine plus double what I'm making now" saying it again out if my own mouth didn't sound like a bad thing if anything it was a really great offer despite what goes on between me and Friday.

"Well honey, your young and will most definitely experience things why not try the quality ones you know... Take more risk and see where your life leads... I say go for it, who knows the opportunities that it may open up"

"Thank dad... I will" a knock at my room door drew my attention and paused mid sentence.

"Aliyah?" My dad called when he didn't hear me.
