I was floating in nothingness, eternal space surrounding me. Everything was dark. No matter which way I turned I couldn't see a thing. All I could see was myself and I was surprised. I was no longer wearing the bland tones of Earth Kingdom clothes. My body was enveloped in pure white robes, light and comfortable. They were beautiful, something I doubted I'd ever wear in real life. My hair was longer too, with white crystals tied into the black strands.
Suddenly a bright light appeared in front of me, forcing me to shut my eyes. When I opened them again, I was shocked by what I saw.
Yue.
In her beautiful white robes and flowing hair, she was right in front of me.
"Hello, little sister."
"Yue?" I asked, reaching forward, "What's going on?"
She smiled, "We miss you. Won't you come home?"
"Home? I..."
There was a light from behind me. When I turned a man was stood there. A man I recognised, even though I couldn't pinpoint how. He had dark skin yet golden hair, shoulder length yet the waves were tied back with a red ribbon. His own robes were golden, in a similar style to mine and Yue's yet slightly more masculine. He had a cheeky smile on his face.
"Little sister, I've missed you."
He seemed to float forward, embracing me. Yue floated up behind me, pressing a hand to my back.
"You need to come back to us. It's where you belong." She told me.
The man pulled away.
Raza. His name is Raza.
"It's time to stop playing your games, Sire."
Sire. That's me. That's my name. But no, my name was Muri. Or was it Asami now? I don't know anymore.
"I know you enjoy your little humans but I'm done babysitting. The sky needs the stars."
I looked around, since Yue and Raza's appearance the galaxy had been filled with the moon and sun and I could now see the world beneath us.
But there were no stars.
I woke with a fright. Breathing heavily and sweat trickling down my skin. I looked down. Boring Earth Kingdom clothes, no fancy robes. Nalo was asleep at my side. Racing to my feet, I dashed out of the cave and stared up at the sky.
Stars.
The sky was filled with stars.
I let out a sigh of relief. I don't know if that could be classed as a nightmare, but the thought of no stars terrified me in a way I couldn't explain. The longer I stared at the sky I noticed something. One star was flickering. As if waving at me. Calling me.
I tilted my head, slowly emerging from the cave further and reaching out my hand to it.
"Muri? Is everything alright?"
I stopped.
What on earth was I doing?
I spun around, Iroh sitting up from his bed and rubbing his eyes.
"Yes." I answered far to quickly to not be suspicious, "Just needed a breath of fresh air. I'm fine."
I got back in bed, turning away so Iroh couldn't see my face and attempted to go to sleep but nothing would work.
