After a bit of searching, we burst through another wall and finally found them...
very close with Katara touching his face
What?!
"Aang!" Katara exclaimed, hurrying over to hug him while Aang glared at Zuko behind her back.
Despite what I'd just scene, I ran to hug Zuko too.
"Uncle, Muri, I don't understand. What're you doing with the Avatar?"
"Saving you, that's what." Aang sassed.
Zuko went to attack him but Iroh held him back, "Zuko, it's time we talked. Go help your other friends, we'll catch up with you."
Katara looked at Zuko as she lift, a mixture of pity and...something else. I didn't like it.
"Why, Uncle?"
"You're not the man you used to be Zuko. You are stronger and wiser and free-er than you've ever been! And now you have come to the crossroads of your destiny! It's time for you to choose. It's time for you to choose...good."
A large banging sound caught us off guard and suddenly Iroh and I were trapped in crystals.
Azula slid down from a hole in the wall, standing at attention with a smug look on her face.
"I expected this kind of treachery from Uncle. But Zuko, Prince Zuko, you're a lot of things, but you're not a traitor. Are you?"
"Release them immediately." Zuko barked.
"It's not too late for you, Zuko. You can still redeem yourself."
Iroh interrupted, "The kind of redemption she offers is not for you."
I felt tears welling up, "Please Zuko, you know what the right choice is."
"Why don't you let him decide?" Azula sneered at us before looking sympathetically at her big brother, "I need you Zuko. I plotted every move of this day. This glorious day in Fire Nation history. And the only way we in...is together. At the end of this day you will have your honour back. You will have father's love. You will have everything you want.
"Zuko. I'm begging you." Iroh redirected Zuko's attention to himself, "Look into your heart and see what it is you truly want."
Azula raised her hand to make the Dai Lee agents stand down, "You are free to choose."
She walked out the way Katara and Aang did.
"Zuko." I cried softly, "Please...stay with me...with us. We can have a life here. Like you said. You said you wanted that, right? Please, I'm begging you. Don't go with her."
Zuko lowered his head in shame and closed his eyes.
"I'm sorry."
And he went to follow her.
"Zuko, don't do this! Please! Zuko!" I screamed after him.
Tears poured down my eyes at the realisation at that he was leaving me behind. Yet again.
"ZUKO!" I sobbed, "ZUKO! DON'T! DOn't leave me."
My voice got small as sobs overcame my body. Next to me, I heard Iroh fire bending his way out of the crystals. I only hung my head and let the tears pour. Iroh escaped and quickly came to help me out.
"Don't." I told him, taking him by surprise, "Just go stop him. Leave me. Please."
He pressed a kiss to my head, "We will see each other again, Muri."
