"Wow, this is amazing to watch."
We laid on a hill, admiring the meteor shower. It pained my heart to see all my stars, so far away but I had to admit, Raza was doing a good job keeping them in tact. I knew what this was. Today marked the day that my civilisation had been slaughtered.
"Glad to see my brother is doing a good job at looking after my stars for me." I smiled.
Aang turned over to look at me, "Can you tell us more about what your life was like as a spirit?"
I glanced around, everyone (except for Toph) was staring at me expectantly.
"When I first opened my eyes, all I could see was Raava. She told me she'd created me at the request of La. She thought the night sky was lonely and wanted someone to be with her. Raza, my brother didn't have such ideas and felt he was more than enough for the day sky. I admired him so much, I wanted to be just like him. But I also wanted to please my sister. So I decided, I'd be a thousand little versions of the sun, just like Raza but to also keep La company. Centuries later, each of us created our own civilisations. La's scared island in the exact point of the ocean that was equal distance to the North and South Pole and Raza's Sun Warrior civilisation on the Fire Nation. Later, La decided to become a mortal and stay with Tui in the spirit oasis in the North Pole. Sixteen years ago, I was being chased by a crazed man who wanted to kill me and steal my power for himself. He'd already slaughtered my Star Settlers. I found a woman who's unborn baby had no soul and fled into the infant's body to hide. But I realised this was my own chance to live as a mortal and erased my memories as Sire. And I lived as Muri."
"Wait," Aang sat up, "The Star Settler cult? I heard of that, it's an Air Nomad legend. It's supposedly in the tallest mountain of the Western Air Temple island! Is it real?"
I sadly looked at the meteors, "It was. An entire culture hidden in caves and tunnels with the only entrance at the very top of the mountain. But they were all killed. That's what the meteor show is for, it's the anniversary of their deaths."
"Wow. Kind of makes you realise how insignificant we are."
"Eh, you've seen nothing once, you've seen it a thousand times."
With a bright flash, one of the meteors started heading straight for us.
"Oh man, you've never not seen anything like this."
It landed nearby, crashing into the ground. I raced after it, desperate to see why Raza had sent meteor to me. The others followed me on Appa, picking me up on the way and circling the meteor.
"The fire is gonna destroy that town!" Katara exclaimed.
Aang jumped into action, "Not if we can stop it!"
Appa landed, the rest of us jumped off while Katara stayed on, "There's a creek over there. I'll bend the water on to the fire!"
"Toph, let's make a trench to keep the fire from coming any closer!"
Sokka and I stood awkwardly off to the side, "What should I do?"
"Keep an eye on Momo."
"So what I'm just a lemur-sitter?"
I huffed, sitting in the dirt, "At least you have a job."
Nalo jumped onto my head, stretching out and relaxing like the pampered little thing he is.
Everyone worked hard with their bending to put out the fire. At one point sparks flew our way and lit the grass on fire and Sokka desperately put it out, quick to do anything. Katara sprayed the water from the creek, dousing the fire while Toph earthbended the rocks to snuff the flames out.
