I was exhausted after our long eventful day. I learned so much about Cye and his family, yet he never once asked a single thing about mine.  We parted in late afternoon. Cye said he had some business to tend to. His long demanding kiss in front of my bedroom door let me know he wanted more but he couldn't at this moment. It was ok, I needed some time to myself. Some time to think about what was happening to me. If I could only contact Ityanna.

I opened the door to my bedroom and leaned against it exhausted. I rubbed my hand over my face surprised to see my room had been freshened up. I guess that's what happens when you live in this big of a house people do everything for you. I poured myself a bourbon neat and sat down at my bar. I twirled my diamond ring around on my finger, then slid it off. I watched my reflection changed in the mirror. It wasn't all that had changed though.

I could hear conversations happening all over the mansion. I couldn't focus on just one conversation, it was all jumbled to me, everyone seemed to be talking at once. I could also see each fiber moving through time and space everything around me was in motion. Colors were brighter, everything was in clear colorful motion. It was dazzling. I put out my hands feeling the fibers in the air. Turning them, swirling them around. I was amazed at what I was seeing.

I went to the windows; the city was luminous. I had never seen it so alive. As I watched the colors rush by, I heard a familiar voice. Chanting, chanting my name. I listened again to make sure it was her; it was it was Ityanna. I closed my eyes and focused hard to draw her voice to me.

I whispered her name, "Ityanna. I hear you."

The chanting never stopped. She was close. Why couldn't she get through to me? I listened harder trying to understand what she was saying to me.

Ganiyegi (danger) Dehena (come here). Ganiyegi Dehena  Ganiyegi Dehena. Danger Come here. She is warning me. I kept looking out the window concentrating watching the lights and the cars go racing by. I stopped abruptly when I caught a glitch. I watched for another minute listening to Ityanna. There it was again the same pattern repeating itself repeatedly, it was impossible. To the normal eye it would not have been caught but to my new eyes I saw it the view I was looking at was fake. It was like a movie on repeat. I squinted my eyes to try to see through it, but I couldn't. I knew something was off. A knock at my door jarred me from the window.

"Lumi, it's Clara may I come in?"

"One moment." I said as I darted over to the bar and grabbed my ring placing it back on my finger.

I watched my appearance change back to normal. I smoothed my hair and opened my door.

"Hello Clara, what can I do for you?" Trying to seem as normal as I possibly could. I saw Clara standing there with a tray of tea.

"Would you like some tea? I thought you may be tired from your day."

"Actually, yes Clara thank you. You can leave it at the bar."

I watched her set the tea up at the bar and as she turned to go, she stopped at the door turning back to me.

"I am sorry for walking in on you and the Mister. I do hope you can forgive me."

Her tone was blank, dry even. Did she really mean it, or was she told to say it to me? I examined her face as she kept looking at me. What was I missing? I opened the door to my room and held it with my left hand letting my ring shine bright. Clara's eyes immediately darted to my ring and stopped. She gasped and began to shake.

"Is there a problem Clara?" I said in a cool voice still glaring at her watching her every move.

"No, ummm I, it's so beautiful Lumi. Congratulations. I had no idea."

"No one does yet, we prefer it stays that way until the party in a couple days."

"That's not an issue. I will talk with the Mister and see if there is anything I can do help."

"Thank you, Clara, I will see you at dinner." I ushered her out of my room and slid my ring off listening at the door. I heard Clara's heartbeat. It was accelerated she was holding back tears. What was going on with her? I was going to find out. I listened more as she walked further down the hall. I heard her press numbers on a phone, then she spoke again.

"He asked her to marry him!" Her voice was filled with rage. "This has gone too far." I heard her say and slam the phone down.

Who was she talking to? Was this the danger Ityanna warned me of?

My mind was racing with everything happening around me. I went back over to the bar and sat down pouring myself some tea. That's when I smelled a familiar smell. Ayahuasca, "vine of the soul" it was faint, but it was there. It was in the tea.  Ayahuasca has hallucinogens that help people overcome their demons. It was so faint I hadn't smelled it before but with my ring off and my heightened senses I could pick up on it. I decided to drink the tea. I needed answers and without my ring on this very well could give me the answers I needed. I drank all the tea, secured my ring in a hiding place and I laid down in my bed.
