Hello everybody... I know that I am late in posting the next chapter but it was a bit hard typing and improvising how it will go. I feel as if my story is going a bit slow and is confusing. I also feel as if it is very dramatic, but that is one of the genres... drama... Please tell me what you think about in a nice way if possible... anyway, here is my story.
I do not own Fairytail......... and short FLASHBACK included in this chapter... :)
Lucy/Kiera P.O.V
I wore my midnight blue shirt along with black pants. I put on my black fingerless gloves and tied the laces of my black combat boots. This is my usual outfit. After eating breakfast, I put my cloak on and secured my hood. Then I jumped off the balcony. Kuno was on the lookout when I landed. Guess he was waiting for me.
"Hey Kuno. Ready to go?" I asked, petting his mane. He answered by licking my palm. Then we started walking to the edge of the forest, towards the small village. Every month, I would leave the forest and visit the outside world, but, only for a day. Ever since I stayed in the forest, I visit the world outside for a day at most, nothing more. The looks I got from people were a bit overwhelming at first, but as weeks passed ever since I transformed, I got used to it. The judging eyes and the discerning gazes sent to my way no longer affected me as much.
When the day comes for me to go to my monthly leave, Kuno would insist to accompany me. And each time this happens, I would politely decline and tell him to guard the forest instead, since it's been our peaceful home for a long time. Today, however, Kuno would come with me because of the event that happened yesterday. Also, because he wants to guard me. Although these are his reasons why he wants to go with me today, deep down, I know that there is something more to this. But, I wouldn't pry.
You know, you don't have to come with me. I'll be fine, like always. I thought and looked at him in the eye. I usually communicate with Kuno using my mind because he can understand it more than talking by mouth. But, if I focus on him and look straight in his eyes, talking by mouth will not be as hard from before, but it's still a bit harder than telepathically communicating. Oh come on, it will be fine. I mean, it is only for a day right? He asked. I nodded. Then it will be fine. He assured. What about the forest? I was a bit worried since no one would look after our place. You are more important on the moment. So, why don't we enjoy a day of our 'freedom' and then return to training every day, mostly you by the way. I was touched. Kuno is really overprotective when it concerns someone he trusts.
After walking for about 45 minutes, we saw a wooden barricade surrounding the forest. That's new, I thought to myself. It wasn't there last month. Kuno looked at me and yawned. Hey, do you know anything about this? I asked curiously. Actually, I think I do. You were training before so you didn't notice and feel their presence. I could feel a few of them. However, I didn't drive them away because they didn't actually enter the forest and caused some trouble. So I just let it go. "Okay" I said in my quiet voice.
After ruffling his mane, I looked at the outside world, on the other side of the fence. "Okay, let's do this."
Steps were taken, and we moved closer to the village and farther from our humble hut. Just a few trees ahead and it will be outside. As we passed the last tree, I saw the small but peaceful village of Furui. It was really strange that they believe on a legendary forest guardian but sees it as a threat to the village. After making sure my hood is secure, I jumped over the border that separated the world from ours. The wooden fence feels thick and sturdy against my soft palm. Kuno leaped into the air and landed on the other side of the fence as well.
Seriously, these people are out of their minds. No one is going to attack their village. What do they need this fence for? Kuno scoffed inwardly. I let my pale grey orbs wander on Kuno's figure for a second then started walking to the path beside the river. It is slightly hidden and almost nobody passes through this path because of the thick thorny vines. The path leads to a small woody hill and from there, I usually walk to the train station.
