"Whoa! Is that a wolf?"
Startled, Kiera accidentally dropped the flyers. She was so absorbed in her thoughts that she forgot there were other people in the room and that she brought Kuno along.
Knowing Quentin and his unlikely fascination of new and rare things, he would not stop pestering her about the Grey wolf until she atleast open her mouth and say one word of information. Kiera found this an irritable and annoying part about Quentin.
It was a pain in the neck, but it was much worse when she had first signed up for the job. Kiera remembered that she nearly casted Urano Metria on Quentin when he would not shut up about the questions if not for Keona stepping in and interviewing her herself.
Keona looked up from her paperwork to see a gray wolf with azure blue eyes. It was a bit larger than an average wolf. Quentin looked like he was going to explode with amazement. He looked starry-eyed.
That Idiot, Keona thought, shaking her head.
Kiera hastily picked the flyers up. She noticed Quentin patting his attire, searching for something that made her stomach drop with dread. When she saw the tip of something small and black, Kiera quickly stood up and hurried to the door. She knew that she would miss her mission and never hear the end of it if Quentin ever opened that thing.
After exchanging a swift nod of goodbye with Keona, she left with Kuno tailing her. She was hoping to avoid another long exchange of information with the overly curious assistant.
"H-hey! Wait a second!" Quentin said but the door slammed shut before he got to ask a question
"Aw man. I was hoping to ask her a few questions about that wolf. Wonder how she got that. Oh well, I'll try some other time," he shrugged his shoulders and pocketed a thick, black notebook and a pen. "Wonder why she was in quite a hurry though."
Keona stood up and took a drink. Crushing the paper cup, she muttered "A few questions he says." Though it was barely audible, Quentin heard it. Surprisingly.
"Really Kea? As if," he grumbled.
The brown haired woman crossed her arms in annoyance. "You wouldn't let her hear the end of it." Remember when you were interviewing Kiera? You wouldn't shut up about the questions you even started asking her about unnecessary stuff. It's a good thing I was there to stop you from getting yourself killed."
"What are you talking about? It was not unnecessary. I was just asking her about herself." Quentin was obviously oblivious.
"You mean that 'Are you single? Do you have a boyfriend?' was not unnecessary?" she challenged with an eyebrow raised.
Quentin's face turned into an unhealthy shade of red. "What? She looks hot, you know? You can't blame me?" he defended himself.
As he was staring at his shoes while rubbing the back of his neck, he failed to notice a pair of green eyes flash dangerously. Without warning, he was punched in the back of his head. Rubbing the tender spot, he turned to give Keona a glare but immediately regretted it as he faced the deadly look on her face.
"I don't care who the hell you date, as long as you do not date any on my team."
Throwing the crushed cup on the bin, she took the all of the paperwork and placed the heavy bundle on her assistant's arms. "Now, be useful and separate every paper according to the category. Bring them to the Filing Department under my name. After that, grab the remaining documents in the South Building, Room 107D. It's the new Commanding Officer's Office. Now go."
With a flick of her wrist, Quentin trudged out of the room, both annoyed and afraid of what she would do if he didn't do what she said. Damn, she's a demon alright! A string of curses were muttered all the way to the Filing Dept.
