"I'm gonna do it today. I'm gonna talk to that hot guy next door." I said into my phone as my feet sank into the bath.

"And you know he's gay?" My best friend said dubiously.

"Either that, or he still believes that girls have cooties and he and his friends get together to discuss that."

"Yeah, and they do it in their secret language too." Eddie said. I fiddled with the screen, putting it on speakerphone. I raised my brow in confusion as I brought the green tea smelling water to my face, scrubbing away dirt and oil.

"What?"

"Yeah, they speak primarily in grunts, right?"

"Oh! Ew! I'm gonna throw my phone in this tub!" I heard his giggle, and a smile was brought to my face.

And then it dropped.

"Oh shit dude." I hopped up, scalding myself with water and also successfully managing to fall out of the tub as my eyes fell upon the very large spider in front of my face.

"What?" Sly said curiously.

"There's a huge spider! Come and kill it!"

"We live in different states, dumbass."

"Right."

"Ask the cute guy next door." He said jokingly, followed by his laugh.

"That's actually a pretty good idea."

"No it's not, I was joking. Do not do that."

"I'm gonna do it. Seeya dude." And then I hung up on him before he could protest any further.

I wrapped the towel around my waist, and fixed my damp hair into something presentable, so I could convey my haste to rid the spider.

I left small foot puddles in the hallway as I made my way over to my neighbors apartment.

Shit, I don't even remember his name.

Oh well.

I knocked on the door hurriedly.

It opened, and I jumped a little at how long it took to.

"What?" He asked suspiciously. He obviously remembered me, so I can imagine he'd be confused considering we've never had any conversation besides the polite hello every time we saw each other. I forgot how cute he was in person. His cheeks were flushed, and his hair was standing up a little bit, and his chest rose and fell heavier than normal..

As I offered one sweep of the apartment with my eyes, I realized he had company.

Blush broke out on my face, and I started slightly backing away.

"Oh god, never mind." I said in a quiet tone.

He looked my up and down, noting the towel and nothing else. Oh god I should've worn something else.

At least a fucking shirt.

"Wait, what is it?"

"There's just.. There's a spider in my tub, and normally I'd have my roommate kill it, but he just moved out. God I'm stupid, we've never even talked before." I said with a laugh, ruffling the hairs on the back of my neck that were now standing up due to his presence and a slight breeze.

He gazed at me warily, swaying gently on the balls of his feet.

He bent down, slipping his shoe off. I smiled at the action.

"Be right back." He muttered to the frustrated guy sitting on his couch. I led him through my apartment, somewhat self-conscious about my appearance but too elated by the fact that he agreed to my crazy proposal to care.

"Alright, where is it?" He said with determination, wielding his weapon.

My eyes scoured the area, and I identified it quickly. I pointed, and he turned to me with a smirk before turning back to it.

He lifted up his arm powerfully, and dropped the shoe entirely.

"What?" I said before thinking.

He scoffed and bent down to pick it up.

"You don't really think I'd just kill it. I'm not that big of a jerk."

He leans over the tub and opens the small window above it, tossing the spider out.

"You're welcome." He said.

"You didn't even give me enough time to say thank you." I whined.

He shrugged.

"Hey, after I'm done with Jeremy in there, can I hang out here? I've been meaning to for awhile, you've always seemed really cool to me."

"'Done with Jeremy?'" I cringed at his phrasing.

"Not like that. I mean I'm gonna kick him out because he's annoying."

"Oh?" I raised my eyebrow.

"Yeah. Mr. Pornstar in there is either annoyingly sensitive, or compensating for something and I don't want to find out."

"Oh." A red hue darkened my pale cheeks.

"Sure, you can chill." And then he grinned the cutest grin I've seen in awhile, teeth so straight it made me want to hide my own matching smile.

"Alright. I shouldn't take too long." He said, taking his time leaving.

Oh shit. I should probably get dressed and drain the bath.
