He couldn't believe his luck. They day had begun as he normally would have any other day, relaxing and enjoying the outdoors. He has intended to read his book for a while and then change at home to go for his normal run, but time spent with La'llia just felt...right. While sitting at the park he had just felt the pull he had felt from the previous day. When he looked up, there she was, even more beautiful than he had remembered. As she had approached him she had held a confident air about her, almost as if she knew he would be there. She had left her chestnut locks down and they curled around her face framing the beauty that was there. Her steel blue gray eyes held a knowledge that he couldn't quite read, but felt captivated when he had locked his with hers. Today she had worn a light gray sweater that set off the blue in her eyes and jeans that hugged her curves right down to her ankles. Her feet were bare and she wore a simple pair of sandals, her toe nails were painted blue with white swirls that looked like little flowers. As she had sat close to him, when her knee had brushed his thigh, he had felt something electric pass through his body at the contact. He was becoming lost in this woman that he had known for less than a day, but it felt like an eternity.
Upon his acceptance of her request they had made their way back to her Chevy Camaro. Again, she had allowed him to drive, simply explaining away his protests saying she was too new to the area and he would get them there faster. He didn't mind at all. The sports car was amazing, the feel of the power and how it handled excited him. After explaining she had to fill her home with new furnishings, she requested that he drive her to the local furniture store. After having spent the previous afternoon helping her select her home's materials for reconstruction he felt he had a sense of what she would like and knew just where to take her.
Like before their conversation on the short drive seemed to come naturally. Christian almost regretted that they had arrived so quickly, cursing himself that he should have driven slower. The comfort he felt while in her presence was something he had never felt before. The Grand's Home Furnishings store had little traffic as it was a more upscale furniture store. He pulled into the nearest parking spot and quickly escorted her through the front entrance. The lady knew what she liked and what she wanted, making selections quickly. From everything she had already selected he could tell she had a very large house.
"Wow, what does a single lady like you need with a house so large?" He finally asked.
When she looked at him, she smiled and he felt his breath catch in his throat. "I know, it seems a little over the top, but sometimes I have friends that come to visit and I want to make sure they feel like they are at home."
"If you don't mind my asking...where exactly is your new home?"
"Just outside of town. Off from Brandon Street."
"Did you buy the old Parker place?" The surprise in his voice gave him away.
"Hmmm, well I can't say for sure, but if it is the one that is located at the end of the Cul-de-sac then yes, I did." She raised an eyebrow as if to ask him why.
"Oh well...sorry. It's just that that place has been empty for a while now. I was beginning to wonder if anyone would ever have the courage and patience to give it the attention it deserved."
"Well it was certainly the size I was looking for, and the location is perfect. I have wonderful views of the Blue Ridge Mountains from by main living room as well as my master bedroom. The area seems relatively safe. It just needed some TLC."
He smiled at her. His appreciation for the woman growing with each word she spoke. "What do you think of this? " She asked as she ran her hand across an earthy toned comforter that lay across a four poster king size bed. The wood seemed to be a deep mahogany. She turned then and hopped up onto the mattress, bouncing slightly to test the firmness of it.
