His head was still on my lap while Matthew spoke to him: "Hey, boss. Listen to me. You know what can survive the anti-life? You." "He's right. Dreams don't fucking die, not if you believe in them." I whispered to him. "Missy is right and we believe Dream of the Endless would never leave his raven and a Dream of his here alone, in Hell with Lucifer." He ended his speech.

Morpheus started to move and lifted his head: "I...am...hope." Warm light filled the room. I smiled as long as there was hope anywhere life could go on. "Well, Lightbringer? It's your move. What is it that kills hope?" he asked Lucifer. Lucifer looked bitter, but then turned to the demon: "Choronzon, give him his helm." However, he refused. "Mazikeen, will you allow me to take care of him?" I asked, seeing her walk towards the demon. She looked at me and nodded, "Since my guest."

"A fight is a fight, demon and Morpheus won that fair. I'm not like Mazikeen, so I'll ask you again: will you give him the helmet back?" I asked him as I stood right in front of him. The demon shook his head again: "It's mine." I let out a dissatisfied sound: "Too bad, so sad. I'm not really one for violence, but I'll make an exception for you." With that, I darted my hand to where his heart was. The demon cried out in pain, but I held my gaze iron. I pulled my hand back and held in my hand what was once his heart. I took the helm, then gave him a slight nudge and dropped him off the depo into the crowd with his 'heart' right behind.

I cleared my throat. Morpheus came to me and I gave him his helmet back. He leaned down to me: "Thank you my dream." Then he turned to Lucifer: "Thank you Lightbringer. The Ruler of Hell is honorable, indeed. I will not forget this." "Honorable?", they asked and came towards us, "You joke, surely. Look out there, Morpheus. The bilion Lords of Hell stand arrayed about you. Tell us, why should we let you leave? Helmet or no, you have no power here. After all, what powers have dreams in Hell?" Morpheus met her iron gaze: "You say I have no power here. Perhaps you speak truly but to say dreams have no power in Hell. Tell me, Lucifer Morningstar, what power would Hell have if those imprisoned here were not able to dream of heaven?"

Their eyes grew bitter again, I expected another fight to break out between the two at any moment. They just smiled: "One day, Morpheus, we shall destroy you." He teased and bowed: "Until that day, Lightbringer." He came to me and Matthew and we left the room, not knowing that the Lightbringer was plotting against us.

We were now back on the hill where we were before. "You think Lucifer will come after you?" Matthew asked worried. Morpheus asked why. I put my hand to my head, he was thousands of years old, but sometimes not really the brightest candle on the cake. Matthew explained it to him: "Because you just publicly humiliated the Ruler of Hell." He put on his helmet. "Can you even see in that thing?" Matthew asked again. Morpheus approved of this. "Rune?" he then asked about me. I raised my head. "I wanted to thank Matthew and you for giving me strength again," he said. "You are my maker and it was my duty," I murmured softly as he led us to his ruby.

We arrived at a camp, the ruby was glowing in a box. "I have a really bad feeling about the whole thing," I said softly, keeping my distance. "Something's wrong." he said suddenly, which caused me to take even more distance from it all. Suddenly the ruby flared and Morpheus was thrown back against a pile of crates. Someone suddenly walked in, so I hid behind some shelves.

When the person was out again, I left my hiding place and made my way to my companions. Matthew was able to get up immediately, but Morpheus didn't move. "Morpheus, hey Morpheus?" I tried to wake him up, but nothing worked. A tear fell from my eye as I kept trying.

"I love you Morpheus, please don't die."

She finally said it but him not hearing it
