You were currently sparring with Satele, the jedi master had been accepted by Shaak and Depa and the four of you were now in a relationship. You were fairly matched, which was an increasing rarity for the both of you. For you your father, and maybe Yoda, were your only superiors in combat. Sidious and Mace being your only equals. For Satele she was considered to be the, certainly one of, best duellist of her time. Malgus is understandably her only equal.
"How you're still only a padawan is beyond me," Satele commented as you got into the fifth saber lock that second "thanks, means a lot," you replied before force pushing her to the ground and putting your lightsaber to her neck. You smiled as you deactivated your weapon and helped her up.

You were now walking through the streets of Coruscant. Headed to a restaurant. "Master, I've been meaning to speak to you about something," you said "what is it Padawan?" he asked "the fact I'm still a padawan. I've always tried my best to be patient about it but it's always in the back of my mind," you replied, Mace sighed and put a hand on your shoulder, "myself and several council members have agreed that you are not ready, you still need to learn discipline," he stated "discipline?" you scoffed "if I didn't have discipline then I would likely be a sith by now. Master, I've proven that I've surpassed all but you and Master Yoda. And you yourself have said that I'm one of the best jedi the order has, being a padawan, your padawan, is holding me back," Mace stopped walking and looked at you. "You raise a few good points, but the council decided it was best you were kept a padawan for the duration of the war," he said "why? Master if I am able to bring an entire fleet, I could easily take out the Separatist leaders. And if I wasn't already tired from sparring then I would have very likely taken out both sith lords. Not to mention we were on Korriban, they were being boosted while I was being weakened. No one had ever survived an encounter with Sidious. I've taken out both Grievous and Ventress. Keeping me a padawan is like saying you want to keep the war going," you argued "you are correct that you would have likely killed Darth Sidious if you were at your strongest. I... will speak with the council about this matter again, but I cannot make any promises," Mace said "that's all I ask Master," you replied.
As you were eating Mace began getting curious. "Might I be informed as to why you'd like to be made a knight?" he asked "so I can train my own padawans. Why do you think I like to teach younglings?" you said "what would you teach your padawan?" Mace asked "the force, how to be a good person in general, I mean, isn't part of being a master taking on the role a parent would?" you replied "for most. Would you teach your padawan the dark side?" he asked "I'd teach them to be balanced, and intern, teach them some dark side abilities, so yes," you said "that is not necessarily a good idea," Mace argued "isn't it? Ever since I started learning the dark side, don't scold me, I've been able to use the light side to a higher degree. I am able to meditate clearly now," you replied "maybe that is what Sidious wants," he said "no. I've learnt how to sense that stuff. You cannot completely remove either side of the force from yourself, every jedi could fall to the dark, and every sith could return to the light," you stated "which is why a jedi, such as say Anakin, is able to become stronger if they embrace and understand both sides of the force," you couldn't see it, but Mace had a small smile as you spoke. You had basically just given him a lesson.

Mace was now sat in his chair in the council chamber as the war was discussed. "I am aware that this is a controversial topic, but I would like to discuss my padawan's promotion to knighthood," Mace stated, getting the attention of his fellow masters, "he is too arrogant, and has not learnt discipline," Mundi argued "he, in my opinion, has become wiser than many masters. And his skill with the force and a lightsaber is indisputably unrivalled," Plo replied "what is the force saying we do?" Shaak asked "teach younglings he has begun to do. Respect him they do not. Respect, hmm, to do with this I believe it is," Yoda said "from what I've seen when fighting with him he does has the potential to become a master already, he may be young, but he knows what he's doing," Obi-wan stated which surprised several members. Namely Oppo Rancisis and unsurprisingly Ki-Adi-Mundi. "I would also like to mention what he has recently discussed and demonstrated," Mace commented which got their attention again "when facing Grievous he used lightning. However it was not the dark side, nor the light side," "how could that be possible?" Mundi asked "like Master Ti said, he was like a walking nexus. It was not of one colour, it was every colour imaginable. I felt the force itself radiating off of him, almost as if every last bit of the force was flowing through him at once," he stated. There was silence after these words were spoken. "He should undergo the trials," Oppo said "he has already underwent them, only unintentionally," Shaak argued "how so?" Mace asked and she stood up "he has been through much worse than the trials ever could. Surely he passed the trial of skill, having held his own against two sith lords whilst weakened or when he defeated General Grievous. And he adored an atrocious trail of the flesh when he lost his mother. And he has continued to pass every trial of courage this war has dealt him," she explained "that leaves, much like with his brother, the trial of spirit," Eth Koth said "facing the mirror," Piell muttered "and that is part of what concerns me, to walk the path of a jedi knight requires discipline. And he often disobeys Master Windu," Mundi stated "he has shown more discipline than any other jedi I've seen," Mace argued "and there is nothing more that I can teach him," "unorthodox Padawan Skywalker's career has been, so too will be his trials. Trust in the force I do, a knight, no, a master. Yes," Yoda said which shocked even Mace "he must become a knight first," Mace argued "then his knighting, happen in ten minutes it shall. Give him an hour. A master then he will be," Yoda chuckled and and several masters smiled a little.
