"When I kissed you, you tasted like war, and that was funny, because I craved the chaos." –Makenzie Hipple

Once I returned to the house with the Guinivere's and Lyssa, I made it my mission to sober up and clean the mess I left behind in my bedroom. It wasn't as difficult as saving the world, but this was the only thing I knew how to do at the moment. After I was done, my whole body was filled with dirt and sweat that I automatically had to jump in the shower and rinse off. It was the middle of the night and everyone was probably sleeping by now. Though I didn't know about Lyssa, she was always awake at the most inconvenient times. Quietly, I let the water flow down my body–lathering myself with a rose-scented soap that I loved so dearly.
After I was done, I dried myself and pulled on a pair of black panties and shorts, then tugging on a tank top the same color. By the time I opened the bathroom door, the only light that escaped was from behind. But the man in front was gazing at me with total intensity, almost as if he knew he shouldn't be here but he was anyway. As though I plagued his mind the same way he did to mine. Amias scanned my wet hair, then down to my bruised neck that was slowly healing. Finally he scanned my breasts that peeked out of my tank top and then my long legs. After he was done, I noticed the plate of food in his hand. "Is that for me?" I pointed, managing to bite down my nervousness.
He wore a simple green button-down and shorts, while his brown hair was a mess on top of his head. Amias turned his attention towards the food now, a blush forming on his cheeks. A fucking blush! "Yes. I thought you needed some well-prepared food after the day you had. Though, I waited until you were finished cleaning your room." he paused, peering at my bedroom now. "It looks nice, Sor."
For a second, I wondered how in the hell he would know what I was doing but then it occurred to me that he had Vampire hearing. Of course, stupid me. I stepped closer, gently grabbing the plate and sitting down on the edge of my bed and stared at the food now. Amias made me a cheeseburger I so desperately craved for weeks with everything on it, with fries and a side of green beans for nutrients. When I tilted my head up to face him again, I realized he was standing awkwardly in the middle of the room as he kept quiet. I patted the spot next to me, wanting him to sit as I ate. "Amias, I'm not going to bite," I admitted, pulling my lips into a smirk. "At least, not this time." He shook his head, grinning as he lowered onto the spot next to me. His eyes landed on mine as he watched me take a bite of a french fry. I've had a thousand questions I wanted to ask him, but it was never the right time. Until now. There was so much about him that I needed to learn, needed to understand. "Amias, did you ever fight in the war? I know everyone joined but you never mention it. Though, I wouldn't want to talk about it if you did, it's just been on my mind for a while."
Amias smiled even more as I rambled and it was the most beautiful sight in the world. But then it turned into a frown at the thought of the war that happened before I was born. "Yes, of course I did. Luc and I, we lost a lot that day. So did many others." he paused, looking down at my plate. "After you finish, I'll tell you everything."
I rolled my eyes, not liking anyone bossing me around. But to him, I obeyed. Not only because I wanted to know everything he experienced, but it was Amias and he made this delicious food for me. Once I was done, I set the empty plate down on the nightstand next to me and got into my comfy blankets. Amias watched, not knowing what to do so I patted the spot next to me again. This time, he laid down and got into the warm covers. His body was turned to me as his head rested on my pillow. We weren't touching at all, but the way we were laying next to each other felt like we could be in seconds. "Once Sebastian found Elora, there was no need for me and Luc anymore. We silently left the Kingdom because we wanted him to be happy as our King, so we moved here where our family home is located. Luc and I stayed here while your siblings grew up year after year, waiting for the day he will call because he needs us." He avoided eye contact with me, but trailed his thumb over my shoulder in circles, sending electricity throughout my whole body. "But it wasn't Sebastian, it was Elora. She sent a message to all supernatural creatures in the world to seek our help with the war. There wasn't any doubt in my mind that I would fight. And I did, but we lost so many Vampires in the process."
