26: max mayfield

Lucas:

El falls on the ground looking at her broken arm, wailing and crying. I run towards her as well
as Dustin to meet her on the floor.

"El.. are you okay?" I say, kneeling next to her on the floor.
Dustin does the same. "Yeah, are you okay?"

"I'm fine.." El says, her nose sniffing as she wipes a tear from her cheek.
We help her up and look at Joyce who's now rushing over.
"We need to take you to the hospital right away. We can take Argyles van okay? I don't want anyone to be alone. You hear me?"

"No, I'm not going." Mike yells.

"Mike come on, why not?" Nancy asks.

"I can't leave him." He cries.
"I can't leave Will."

time skip: at hospital _____________

We arrive at the hospital and Joyce and Hopper stand side by side with El, talking to her. We convinced Mike to come with us, it look an hour. He didn't want to leave Will. I always sort of knew Will had a thing for Mike but Mike having a thing for Will? That was unexpected.
We walk into the hospital doors and all sit in a waiting room chair next to each other while Joyce and Hopper go up with El to the desk and tell them about her arm.
Everyone is silent, nobody says a word just like when Will died in his own bedroom.

"We're gonna go back with El. You stay here and DON'T MOVE." Joyce says. I can tell shes still scared from the Will situation, but shes trying not to show it.

I hear a voice though? A familiar voice. I stand up and look around.

"Lucas? What are you doing?" Steve asks me. "We have to stay seated."
I ignore him and walk away, walking towards the hallway near the desk.

"Lucas! Get back here!" Steve softly yells getting up.

My heart light up when I see her. Getting pushed by a nurse in a wheelchair. It's actually her. Max.

"Excuse me young man, I need to get through" The nurse says in a mean sort of tone."

Max's eyes light up when she sees me. "Lucas?"

"Max!!" I yell, maybe a bit too loud. Before I know it everyone is behind me.
I run towards her and hug her immediately. "I missed you so much." I'm practically crying.

She hugs me back. "I missed you too.. So much," She says. She receives hugs by everyone else and then asks, "Where is everyone?"
The nurse is now gone and we are in the waiting room, Max in front of us.
We explain to her where everyone is and then I stop at Will.
Max gets the hint so she says, "Will died?"
I nod.
Max looks at me, eyes widened. Even though Max and Will weren't the closest friends, I could tell she was just as sad as the rest of us.
