23: our last

Will:

Mike looks angry, yet confused. I want to ask him to sleep over again tonight, there's no way I'm going to have bad sleep tonight, when he's here I always feel safe and get great sleep.

"Ms. Byers, Hop, we can stay around the house all day if you'd like, we could maybe go to the store and get your groceries if you'd like?" Nancy suggests.

"That'd be wonderful, Thank you Nancy," Mom smiles.

"May I be excused to go to my room?" I ask.

"Yes, I suppose." Mom says, sighing.

To my surprise, Mike follows me into my room.
I see Lucas and Dustin's expressions change to an upset tone as he does.

Once we are in my bedroom we sit on the floor leaning on my bed. He looks at me admiringly for just a minute and puts his hand on top of mine.

"You know, if we do die.." He stops. "I just want to let you know that I lo-.." Pause, "Lo- really, care about you.." He smiles.

"Mike, I care about you too, a lot.." I put a hand on his cheek, and stare into his eyes. "Do you mind if I kiss you?" I ask nervously.

He laughs softly a little bit, then leans in, his lips now on mine he runs his fingers through my hair. I kiss him back, smiling in between soft kisses. Ive always been wanting this, and It makes me happy to know that Ill be with Mike now, hopefully the rest of my life? That's too long, is it? I don't know how he would feel!
He breaks the kiss and smiles at me, and I smile back at him.

"I love you." I say, flustered.

His face is shocked, frozen even.

"I.." He stutters, flustering up too.

Suddenly Dustin and Lucas barge in and start yelling at us.

"You two are always running off in your little duo and talk by themselves! What's going on with you two?" Dustin asks angrily.

"Yeah! We are tired of it, we are apart of the part too.. don't leave us out!" Lucas exclaims.

"We-" I stumble. "We don't- I-"

"You don't what? What do you do when you're alone? Talk about Vecna and shit?" Dustin questions.

"Well- well yes!" Mike quickly says.

Lucas nods his head and raises his eyebrows. "Mhm, we'll why not discuss it with everyone?" He asks.

"I guess.. we just want to tell eachother?" I nervously answer.

They look at each other again and look back at us.

"Let's talk." Dustin says sitting on the floor next to us two, Lucas does the same.

"About?" Mike looks confused.

"What's going on.." Lucas asks.

"Lucas, what are you talking about?" Mike asks.

"Okay let's see, you always go off in a little duo, you seem.. closer every since you and El broke up, and more. Is-" Dustin lists,

"How do you know about that?!" Mike interrupts.

"About WHAT?" Dustin asks.

"About El and I?!"

"Oh, that, El told me," He says.

Mike has an angry face on, and we are all staring at him, probably wondering what he's thinking.

"So is there ANYTHING? Going on?" Lucas asks, eagerly.

"No!" Mike and I say at the same time.

Dustin and Lucas look at each other,

"Okay, okay.." Dustin raises his eyebrows.

Dustin and Lucas suspect something. What if they think Mike and I are.. a couple? We- We aren't dating right?

"Will? You okay?" Lucas asks, tapping my shoulder.

"Yes, yes." I say, snapping out of staring.

"We should probably go visit Max, right?" Lucas asks, "Or at least I should?"

"Sure, yes," Dustin says

I jump as a loud struck of thunder booms outside, I cover my eyes to look up seeing them all 3 staring at me.

"Hey did you guys hear.."

"Hear what, Will?" Dustin exclaims. "We didn't hear anything."

"But I- I didn't even tell you what I heard.."

"Will." The booming of the voice once in my mind is back again.
He's back again.
