~TOOTHLESS~

"She- you- punch- " I could barely control my laughter at the thought as I was curled up on the cracked earth. Hiccup had told me of the recent events between him and Astrid. I pictured it in my mind's eye, and reminded me of the days when the awkward teenage couple weren't sure what they were, even though they knew they were something. I looked up at my rider.

He was sitting up in front of me, his eyes set upon the rolling waves at the bottom of the cliff. "It was just so strange. I mean, it was her, but it was the wrong her, at the wrong time," he chuckled to himself as he spoke to me about the trivial occurence.

He leaned back on me. "On another note, everyone likes Little Hiccup now- except Astrid, of course- and, uh, Dad should be coming home soon."

I tensed under his weight. Although I knew Hiccup never held me accountable, that Drago and his Bewilderbeast made me, some part of me always blamed myself for Stoick's death. I was a pawn, and my innocence was expendable. Hiccup put a hand to my head, smoothing my scales, and my muscles relaxed at his touch.

Together we watched Little Hiccup and Tiny Toothless as Little Hiccup drew the different tail positions on a piece of parchment torn from his journal.

Little Hiccup, being the ingenious young viking he was, had developed the final prosthetic tail, which would allow Tiny Toothless and I to fly. A metal ring hooped around the other dragon's left foreleg. The fabric tail fin was attached to Little Hiccup's controls- which were controlled by his left foot- using a thin, metal rod.

Once the thumbnail for a tail position was sketched down, Tiny Toothless rose a few metres into the sky, tethered to the ground by a weathered stump. Instantly, the recent friends were blown back into the dense foliage, where they crashed not softly onto the forest floor.

Hiccup and I winced, recollecting the slight pain we had felt when the two of took the tumble. "Come on, Toothless," Hiccup whispered. "Time to go."

When I didn't respond to his words, he clarified. "They need to sneak into Berk to detach themselves from each other," he said, speaking of the hook Little Hiccup had created to keep him from falling of the ebony dragon. "And to escape from Astrid's accusations," he spoke mostly to himself, as an afterthought. Little Hiccup was distracted with the strap that kept him stuck to Tiny Toothless. Like an owl in the night, we glided silently away, disappearing into the clouds.

~LITTLE HICCUP~

Toothless rose from the ground, tugging my waist up with him. I sighed, tugging at the dirty leather strap attaching myself to Toothless. Under further examination I saw that the hook the strap was connected to had bent, forming a metal circle around the ring it was hooked to. I began to shout over to Tufflout, when I stopped abruptly. The older rider and his dragon had vanished from sight, leaving only an indentation in soft grass. "Just when we needed them the most," I complained to Toothless, getting on my feet and dusting my pants off. Grass stained my trousers and the heels of my hands. I found it best to wait until nighttime to risk going to the village. Then we would fly.

~~~
Darkness shrouded Berk like a permanent cloud of smoke and ash. Stars accompanied the full moon in the clear sky, each doing their part in brightening the night. A perfect night for flying.
The glowing mouths of the giant, stone vikings told me we had arrived at the village. Toothless and I landed in the shadows of the buildings, and I walked out from the alley hesitantly, looking for the slightest movement. I leaned casually back- forcing Toothless to stay silent behind me- on the house next to me as a villager passed by with his torch. We exchanged short greetings, and the Night Fury behind me quickly poked his head out of the alley.
I tugged him along to Gobber's arsenal, searching for a tool to sever the strap. Toothles stuffed his face in a large bucket, tossing it across the smithery. Sweeping my gaze over the stock of weapons I found a dagger. I inserted the tip into the bent saddle hook, prying it open without any success.
"Hiccup?" Astrid's curious voice broke the silence of darkness. I froze. I tried to pry the ring off the hook. It wouldn't budge. "Are you in there?" she was right outside. I jumped outside of the messy blacksmith's, closing the shutters behind me swiftly, harness still attached.
"Astrid. Hey! Hi Astrid. Hi Astrid. Hi Astrid," I fumbled over my words nervously.
"I normally don't care what people do, but you're acting weird." Toothless tugged me back in the other direction. I smiled at her, pretending all was well. "Well, weirder."
I was pulled forcefully though the shutters, Toothless dragging me back. Hopping on his back, I clicked my foot into place and flew-- knife in my hand-- into the dense forest, hoping Night Furies really were as dark as night.
Hey everybody! Yeeaaaahh! Rock your booooddaayy! Yeeaaahh! Everyboday, rock your body right. Backstreet's back, all right! Okay, I'm done. Anyway, sorry I haven't updated in so long! I didn't realize it had been so long! I'm back in business now, so yay! Sorry about this chapter, it's kind of boring and you know all of this already. You should watch Young Justice. It's the best cartoon ever. If you already watch it, you're awesome! Not that those who don't aren't awesome... Everyone's awesome. It's superheroes. Can't go wrong with superheroes and a good plot line.
So I have a story for y'all. I had a brain tumour (non-cancercous), so I was off my pills for a while. I thought I was all right, but then I had a major one, so long story short I got a ride from the ambulance and I went to the hospital while they tested my blood. What's my point... Oh yeah! I got a Kobo from my mom, which I was going to get for my birthday anyway, but I also got a Build-A-Bear Toothless! My cousin got it for me and so now I have two books, both movies, a Toothless hat, two plush Toothless', and I went to the HTTYD Live Spectacular! Remember to comment, vote, and share!
