Twenty Nine

"Thanks for letting me stay." I told topper as we stood by his front door. "Yeah, you're welcome." He said giving me a small smile.

"Bye." I said as I slipped out the door. "Bye Ivy." He replied.

I walked down his drive way and back to the town.

I decided to go to one of the phone booths and call Dwayne.

The line rang for a few minutes before it picked up.

"Hello?" I heard his sister say.

"Uh, hi. It's Ivy Rose. Dwayne's girlfriend. I was wondering if he was available to talk?" I asked.

The line was quiet for a few minutes.

"He's busy right now." Her snotty voice said.

"Oh um, doing what?"

"I don't really know. There is some other girl here though they've been in his room for hours. I walked by and I heard some weird noises." She said.

My blood ran cold. Before she could say anything else I slammed the phone back on it's hook and started running to Dwayne's house.

I got there and started banging on the door.

Then low and behold, Dwayne opened the door.

He saw me and his face lit up then turned to fear once he saw how angry i was.

"So who's this girl? Who's this girl you've been fucking all day?" I yelled at him. I was loosing control of my words and my heart was beating fast.

"What girl? Ivy I'm not cheatin' on you." He said.

"That's not what your sister said on the phone. Yeah I called here to see if we could do something and she answered and told me all about your little hookup." I said crossing my arms.

"Nu uh! She's lying!" Dwayne's sister came and stood behind him.

"No I'm not!" I said. I knew it was useless arguing with a little kid but I was fuming.

"No I heard her. She told Ivy you had a girl in your room and that she heard noises." Dwayne's older brother then spoke up.

Dwayne's face changed into anger. That's the one emotion I've never seen him in.

"Why the hell would you do that? What's wrong with you?" He said turning to face his sister.

She shrugged her shoulders, "I don't like Ivy. Her family is trashy and weird and so is she." She said.

"I don't care what you think stay the hell out of my relationship!" Dwayne yelled at her. She scoffed and ran upstairs.

"I didn't cheat Ivy. She likes to lie to people and start drama. I'm sorry bout all this." He said.

"Dwayne it's okay. I'm sorry too. I don't know why I believed her. I love you so much and I didn't want to loose you." I said.

He smiled at me and pulled me into a hug. He kissed my forehead then kissed my lips. "I love you too." He said.

We smiled at each other and kissed one more time.

"So you wanna do something?" I asked him.

"Sure let me get my hat and my keys real fast." He said bolting into the house to retrieve his things.

He came back out and we got in his truck. "So where do you wanna go?" He asked me.

"We could go to the movies? They have a arcade and a bowling alley there. They also have a pizza bar too." I say.
