the pair ended up back in the warmth of sunghoon's room after a long night. jake wore one of the taller male's oversized shirts, a white one - with a wide neckline, so his collarbones and top of his shoulders were visible, it hung loosely over jake's frame.

beneath the silky white covers, their arms and legs lay intertwined, tangled in each other so comfortable and snug. bodies resting until their hearts content. jakes head was propped up beside the other's shoulder, with sunghoon's arm underneath, his hair hiding his closed eyes and eyebrows.

the morning light flooded the room through the ceiling-height tall windows, hitting the walls and leaving a bright glowing rectangular shape. sunghoon stirred, rubbing his eyes as he felt the light upon his face, he tried to sit up only to feel a weight on his arm, it being jake. he slowly slid his arm out, stretching carefully to not wake the sleeping boy.

sunghoon couldn't help but admire jake sleeping so calmly, he was instantly reminded of the first day of school. he slept so unbothered with ease, sleeping had never come easy to sunghoon - there was either too much on his mind or his body rejected every opportunity to rest. he knew it was because of figure skating, he always stressed over his routines, trainings, competitions, his mother critics and the littlest things too. and he worked so very hard to achieve those things, resting just felt like a waste of time when he could be working harder, improving and getting better.

he wanted to be good at something, praised and loved. and yet deep down, he wanted to quit and give up. the sport didn't even feel like a hobby or interest anymore, just a mundane chore that he did to feel something. maybe he had acquired some great skill and technique from it but in the end, it didn't mean anything to him. when he took jake to skate with him, he could forget about it all and just glide on the ice like it was the first time he'd skated. so carefree, exciting and fun.

it's not the things you do but the people you do those things with.

the older boys chest rose and fell gently under the blanket, the slight sound of breathing and trees rustling in the breeze outside, it was so quiet and nice. his parents had probably left for work already, assuming he'd get himself to school as usual. but today, he was not planning to go and pursue his education, instead he would spend the day with a certain brunette.

sunghoon placed his hand on jakes cheek, rubbing circles with his thumb, like the first day, resting it there and picking apart each of his pretty features. a faint smile spread across the sleeping boys lips, cherry tinted lips. sunghoon felt so content in this moment, it was so real and jake just radiated pure energy. sunghoon let go of his hand on jakes face and stepped onto the grey carpet beneath him, going to get ready, closing the door softly - minimising the noise he made.
