jake shivered as the cold bleach mixture touched the roots of his hair, the strong chemical smell spreading through the tiled bathroom. sunghoon walked over to the window and opened it, a cool breeze fled through the gap, filling the room with the smell of grass and nature.

jake sat in front of the mirror on sunghoon's desk chair which they dragged from his room to create a makeshift hair salon, the box dye packaging was scattered across the counter along with sunghoon's phone propped up against a soap bottle with a youtube tutorial playing on how to dye hair. they had all the items ready to either completely burn jakes hair off or transform him entirely. hopefully the second option.

the sticky mixture was cold against his scalp, yet burned as sunghoon applied more with the provided brush. sunghoon's fingers reached the side of jakes jaw, tilting his head towards him so he could apply the bleach to the front of his head. the low murmur of the video playing in the background and the way the breeze flowed through sunghoon's dark hair, his hand placed gently on his jaw. god, this moment felt so real.

the foil crinkled loudly as sunghoon wrapped it around strips of jakes hair, the tingling and burning sensation was starting to give him a headache. he looked at his reflection in the mirror, wrapped in foil - looking so stupid. he shifted his gaze to the boy behind him, focusing on wrapping his hair correctly with the foil. he concentrated hard with furrowed brows and squinted eyes as he twisted the last foil wrap. he looked so adorable when focusing.

the taller boy made eye contact through the reflection of jake in the mirror and lost his concentration immediately, bursting out into laughter.

"you look so funny right now!!"

jake just sighed, rolling his eyes and fake slapping the boy.

"seriously.. how immature are you?"

"you should let me dye your hair next, and I'll be sure to burn it all off!"

sunghoon just laughed harder and jake smiled to himself quietly. he wanted to keep this moment playing over and over in his head, a never ending cycle of happiness and joy.

sunghoon brushed his fingers through the seated males, now dyed, hair. he had to tug a little to get rid of the knots and dryness of the hair. jake winced as the taller male tugged at him once's again. jake had been spun around, facing the other way from the mirror to avoid seeing his hair yet. to be completely honest, he was sure his mother would lose it and yell at him, and he only said it in the moment. he felt a little nervous, but excited, from what he could feel, he still had hair and sunghoon kept smiling as he brushed out the final few knots.
