They say if you love something you should let it go.
I may have taken them too literally:
for, I could've made you stay,
but I let you leave me.
Because loving me is a hassle, and I'm sure, that,
you didn't know.
Since you assumed I mastered
the art of amiability.
Please don't think it was so easy for me
to have to let you go.Looking back on our time together,
I smile for a moment at the love I held on tight to,
just for you.
Though suddenly, it comes rushing back in –
all the melancholy.
And I know why, because all it took was a moment for my facade to fall again,
and we were over:
our standing as fragile as a feather.
And, of course I'd do it all again,
if I had a chance to start over.
For, I still love you,
and In my mind we're together,
caressing each other's cheeks under the sun:
everything's so jolly.Yes, I let you go,
but I still love you, however.
Though, was it all worth it in the long run?
And finally, will the pain last forever?
