Chapter 14
***
Cadence's P.O.V.
My mouth falls open.
They're still dating, and Axel starts fucking another girl.
If I thought Axel was an asshole before, than I have no idea what to call him. That is a dick fucking move.
Jessica is taken aback. "W-what? I-I thought that he loved me."
Lacey just laughs at her. "Please. Don't flatter yourself."
I cringe at the words. Don't flatter yourself.
I abruptly get up and slam my garbage into the trash can.
Axel and I are going to have a talk. I am sick of his shit.

I take a deep breath. Last time I was here we nearly got kidnapped. I sigh and climb out of my car. It's much less scary here when it's daylight.
I have no idea what number his apartment is, but I will just ask the lady at the front desk.
I open the doors and walk to the desk. The lady smiles politely and I return one of my own.
"Um, I'm looking for a Axel Bates. I was here a few night ago and I don't rem-"
"Apartment 233."
I smile gratefully at the lady as I make my way up the stairs and start finding numbers close to his.
229
230
231
232
233
I stop in front of his door and take a deep breath. Again.
I put my hand on the handle and twist, to my surprise it's unlocked. The door squeals open and I stand dumbfounded at the entrance.
Last time I was here, it wasn't that bad. But now?
I think I'm going to faint. What does this guy do?
The paintings and tables that they knocked over (they being Axel and his 'girlfriend' that he is cheating on.) Are still laying on the ground. There is glass scattered over the floor, probably from the vases that fell. Beer cans are everywhere.
Glad that I wore my combat boots, I step in cautiously.
I check the kitchen and a few bedrooms, before I come upon the living room.
I sigh. Well, this is it I guess.
Axel is face down on the couch, snoring away.
How does someone, who is face down on the couch, snore? Or breathe?
I kick through a few beer cans until I end up in front of him.
Well here goes nothing. I think while picking up a beer can.
I hold my breath and chuck it as hard as I can at his face.
He groans, while rubbing the side of his head. "Go away, Tyler."
I have to hold in a laugh by pinching my nose together.
"Axel." I say. All hints of humor gone. I came here for one reason. "Wake up."
He realizes that it isn't a guy talking and rolls over. "Cadence?"
"Get up." I say threatening to throw the beer can that's in my hand.
