Cadence's P.O.V.

"You have to do something, Cade! She could be stalking you or something!" Penny says raking her hands through her hair.

"Axel told me to stay away from her! But she is coming at me!" I say, freaking out just as much as Penny.

"You need to call him. Now." She says grabbing my phone and thrusting it toward me.

"What? No!" I say, pushing the phone away from me.

"Cadence, I know he hurt you, but you need to call him. This girl is crazy. She could hurt you! She thinks that you're taking Axel away from her. On a slutty bitch's watch, that means time for revenge." She says, putting the phone in my hands. "Call him."

I sigh. "Can you do the talking?"

"I'm sorry girl. You used that card on your brother."

"What if I start crying?" I ask, panicking.

"I will be right here. Now sit," she says, pushing me onto the couch. "And call."

"I'm scared." I say, with a pouting face.

"You should be scared of Lacey. She's the one that got into your house and convinced your brother that she was me, and spilled everything."

I sigh. "Fine. On one condition."

Penny looks surprised. "Sure."

"I want to buckets of cookies 'n' cream ice cream. Pronto."

"After you call." She says, smiling evilly.

I look at the phone and have a small feeling that I should just chuck it out the window and move to Chile, but I decide against it.

I press his contact and then the green button, making the phone ring. I put it up to my ear, while flicking Penny off.

"Cadence?" Axel asks.

His voice just about breaks my heart again.

"Um, yeah." Is all I can manage to say.

"Are you okay?" The concern in his voice almost fools me.

"Actually, no. That's why I called." I say, giving Penny a nasty look which she replies with a shrug.

"Are you hurt? What happened?"

"No, I'm not hurt. It's just- Lacey."

The phone line goes dead and I frown. What the hell?

Penny matches my face. "What happened?"

"I don't know. I just said Lacey, and he instantly hung up."

"Who knows."

Axel's P.O.V

Shit.

I didn't take her serious enough. She knows where Cade lives.

I rake my hands through my hair while running down the stairs and hopping into my car. 15 minutes later I'm in Cadences house.

Once I'm in the place I feel like a complete fool. I drove over here to make sure that she was okay when I could have just asked her. Obviously Lacey isn't here.

"Uhh..." Is all that comes out of Cadence's mouth. "I- I need to go to the bathroom."

Cadence gets up and quickly walks out of the room. Leaving me and Penny alone. She smirks evily, and points an accusing finger at me.

"You. Are. Dead." She says slowly, while wagging her finger at me.

I can't help but let out a short laugh. "What are you going to do."

Suddenly I feel a sharp pain on my cheek. She slapped me!

"That." She clarifies with her hands on her hips. "You are going to fix... this. And soon. Because you are putting my best friend in pain and I can do much more than a slap." She says glancing down where the sun doesn't shine.

After her threat, I can't help but feel a little hope. She's in pain? Well of course she is. I technically cheated on her. I fucked up so bad.

But I'm going to get her back.

Cadence's P.O.V

I look at myself in the mirror and rake my hands through my hair violently. I. Can't. Do. This.

It's too tense. No, that's a lie. I can't stop thinking about him! All I want to do is grab his guilty looking face and place my lips on those plump, pink lips of-

Oh my god. What's happening to me?

I turn on the sink and splash my face with cold water. Freezing cold water. I grab a towel and wipe my face off.

Only left to think about Axel again. I can't get him out of my head! I keep replacing the bad things he did to me with good things.

I can't break. This is exactly what he wants. He wants me to be infected by him. He planted his virus in me and just is waiting until I explode. He wants me to run back to him like a wuss.

I rake a deep breath in and stare at myself in the mirror.

I'm not going to. I'm going to hold my ground and be like every other girl he was with: a complete bitch.

I smile at my evil thought, and grab the door handle, pulling it open harder that needed.

Axel is exactly where he was before, but Penny switched spots.

I stop in front of Axel and cross my arms. "It's was really cute for you to stop by and all, but Kyle is coming over, so you need to go."

Overall I'm pleased with my lie; it seems as if he believed me. His face turns red, but he doesn't say anything.

He gets up and heads toward the door. I follow him, beating him to the door so I am for sure that he leaves.

I open it for him, and give him a fake smile. "Bye." I say, and wave.

Just as he steps out, he grab my wrist, pulling me out with him and closes the door.

My back is against the door and his hands are on each side of my head. Trapping me.

"Why are you being like this?" He asks, surprisingly gentler than I thought.

"Like what?" I snap.

He frowns. "I know you're faking it, Cadence." He says, leaning in to whisper it in my ear.

I bite my lip to keep from grabbing his face and aiming his lips at mine.

"Axel." I say, trying to keep the breathlessness out of my voice. "Kyle is going to be here soon. So leave."

His face turns red again and he pulls his hands away from my head. I can't help but feel disappointment at the lose of being so close to him.

"Fine." He says, turning around. Within a minute he's gone.

I sigh and lay my head against the door. What is going on with me?
