Dragon hunting!

Shooting them down!

{ Y/N's point of view }

"Dragons!" Someone shouted
"What!" I said
Hiccup closed the door as fire was blasted through it
"I would go but my metal leg just slows me down! Gobber needs to make me a new one!"
I explained
"Okay. I'll get to the smithy with gobber, you should go there too for the leg!" Hiccup said
I sighed and got up as we raced to the gobber's smithy so I could get a leg.
"Y/N! Hiccup! You shouldn't be here!"
Gobber exclaimed
"Metal leg, won't last long if a dragon breaks in." I stated
Gobber handed it too me as hiccup went over to the thing he and gobber made
"Let me have one chance to kill a dragon!" Hiccup said
"What do you mean kill a dragon?!"
Gobber questioned
Gobber began to lecture him on stuff as hiccup came up with smart answers but I couldn't hear because of fire cracking, dragons roaring and shouts from the distance, and even just dad's shouts to different Vikings and attacks on a monstrous nightmare every now and then but some part of me felt bad for the dragons that probably didn't want anything to do with people.

Gobber left to attack as hiccup leaned on a wall
"We gotta go." I said
"Wait what?-" hiccup was cut off
I grabbed him by the arm and we went towards some other Vikings
"Any night fury? Stormcutter?" I asked
"No, just nadder's, gronckles, zipplebacks and the one monstrous nightmare." A Viking said
"They'll be here." Dad stated
No had actually seen those dragons since they were very elusive although every full moon the stormcutter would pluck the wooliest sheep of its pasture.
"Obviously the children here cannot take this. Get those 5 kids out of here!" Stoick said
Spitelout nodded and went to go grab them but the 5 turned the corner as a monstrous nightmare blasted us
"Oh come on!" I exclaimed
I threw my metal leg away since it was on fire
"Okay. Gobber. Get them out of here."
Stoick ordered.
I got up as astrid and the others went back to their huts as I limped towards the place and gobber went off while opening the door
"One more chance?" I asked
"Sure." Hiccup said
I always had a spare leg near the house so I put it on and we ran towards a peak where the two net launchers were stationed.

"Okay. Hiccup wait for the right time." I stated
The night fury shot at a building and it went over as a ring like line of fire was blasted at another knocking it into the water
"Now!" Hiccup whisper shouted
The night fury went down and all I could hear was a distant roar coming from the stormcutter
"I shot one down?! I did it!" Hiccup shouted
I smiled but ran back to the hut.
"Too bad it didn't land near me, I imagine it's a beautiful dragon, although berk's papers on both the stormcutter and nightfury are plain empty." I said
I sat on the bed for about 30 minutes until I could hear hiccup mocking dad and gobber trying to cheer him up as he was then pushed into the room.
"Don't believe me." He said
"And can I assume a date with astrid is something you're far from?" I teased
Hiccup rolled his eyes before sitting down on the bed waiting for something to happen but all were distant roars of dragons either in distress or in pain from being caught in many nets or squirming trying to get out of the nets.

"I wonder when they'll get back." I stated
"Yeah I wonder too, they were pretty serious about how it's almost winter and I'm not worthy and how They need to find some sort of nest." Hiccup went on
"Meh. You're more likely to become an explorer or something, and I'm here for it. Deep down I feel guilt for 'em." I admitted
"Thank you for making me feel better that I'm a Viking." He stated
"How about this. In the morning we see If we can find them and we can decide what to do with them, either kill them or let the two die there in the woods." I stated
"I guess..." hiccup agreed
"Let's make sure No one knows first. Not even Fishlegs should know, he's not a very good secret keeper." I informed
Hiccup laughed before looking out the window seeing a deadly nadder get hauled off towards the fighting arena, it was blue and it seemed to have lots of fight since There were multiple Vikings trying to haul it but it just wouldn't budge.
"I'm guessing we're going to be fighting that dragon soon." Hiccup predicted
"Ah. If there is a soon for you. Dads gonna kill you for your mess." I laughed.

I heard dad swing the door open and then go into his room as hiccup's smile dropped
"I'm agreeing with you on that one."
He whispered
"There's astrid!" Hiccup exclaimed quietly
I walked towards the window and looked down seeing astrid walk towards a mountain and go to her hut
"Really hiccup? Cant you just take one second to think that astrid probably thinks you're nice, she didn't say anything when you were being escorted. Did she?" I asked
"She didn't." Hiccup said.
"There you go, you overthink everything."
I stated
As someone who has knows Astrid better than hiccup she really didn't hate anyone in the group except for Snotlout because he's always trying to date her or come up with pickup lines and even just him being around her unintentionally.
"We need to get some rest if we're gonna search for those dragons." I stated
Hiccup nodded quickly and got into bed as I laid down while taking off my metal leg since every time I changed I really wasn't comfortable sleeping with it on for a couple days, I went to sleep right after but it had seemed like hiccup was still awake.
