Part 9-When Trouble Starts Again

Jayce triumphantly walks up the stairs and onto the stage, where he's met by cheers of jubilation. As he arrives on the stage, he quickens his pace up the stairs and waves at everyone. Cassandra brushes his shoulder and gives him a congratulating smile. Jayce walks up to the microphone and prepares to give the address. He leans down toward the microphones because of his height,

Jayce: "Uh, good evening." he says.

The crowd cheers more and more, and Jayce spots Mel in the front row, while silent, applauding him.

Jayce: "I know many of you probably didn't expect me to be here today. And believe me, I'm just as shocked as you are." he looks down at his speech and back at the audience. "My family and I are simple people. In our factory, we made hammers. They were probably used to cut the stones you're standing on right now. No one in my life expected much very much of me." he continues.

You and Viktor look at Jayce, and you both are proud of him.

Y/N: "He's doing really well." you whisper.

Viktor: "Yes indeed, he-" Viktor is cut off when he starts coughing uncontrollably.

Y/N: "Crap! Viktor, are you ok?" you ask in much concern.

Viktor: "I'm *cough* I'm fine *cough*" he tries to say between coughs.

Y/N: "Are you sure, do you want me to get a doctor?"

Viktor: "No no, I don't want to take the attention away from Jayce. He deserves this."

Jayce: "But, we're not done yet." you hear faintly.

Y/N: "Here it comes. Get ready Viktor." you say in excitement.

Jayce: "This year, we've created something new for you."

You could barely hold in your excitement.

Jayce: "Something that... um...." you and Viktor get confused by his sudden uncertainty, and so does the crowd. "That we will share with you...when the time is right." he says with the crowd starting to boo.

Y/N: "What!" you mumble.

Jayce tries to continue, but the crowd had already lost respect. He tries to give a symbolic speech, emphasizing that Piltover is the city of progress, but you were still upset. Streams and fireworks shoot into the air and explode with beautiful colors, but you didn't see that and decided to go back into town.

Viktor: "Y/N," he tries to stop you, but you already closed the door.

You faintly heard the booms of the fireworks and the crowd shouting, but you did your best to ignore it. You were upset. Jayce said that you could help him represent the next chapter of Hextech, but it seems like Heimerdinger had gotten to him.

Scene Change

4 Enforcers rest upon a stairway while having a smoke, while one of them chooses to just stand.

Duty Captain: "That's it then? I thought that Talis boy was some kind of genius. Last year, didn't he launch a blimp halfway across the continent?"

Caitlyn: "Airship, actually. An airship has a rigid metal hull. It's not a blimp." she corrects them.

Duty Captain: "It's a balloon ain't it?" he grunts in annoyance.

Female Enforcer: "Sure as hell looks that way."

Just then, they hear walking sounds just in an alley.

Duty Captain: "Huh, hey who's there?" he says.

The enforcers all tense up a little bit but when the person comes to light, they relax.
