Part 14-Oil and Water

The three of you hear the explosion and look back distraught.

Y/N: (She really is gone then...)

Vi looks in disbelief while Caitlyn can barely hold conciseness. Fire starts crackling in the distance, embers and ashes fly in your direction. As you stray further away from the Bridge, you feel your hope for Powder still being in their slowly deteriorate. The three of you later rest at a gate, she places Caitlyn on the ground.

Vi: "Caitlyn, Y/N, stay here. I'll be right back."

Caitlyn: "Ok."

Vi then runs to the edge of the fence and peaks out, making sure the enforcers don't spot her. Caitlyn then opens the capsule to check on the gemstone.

Caitlyn: "It's gone!"

Y/N and Vi: "What?"

Caitlyn: "It was all for nothing." She mutters.

Vi looks in the direction of the bridge and sees Silco holding Jinx close, almost like he was her, father. Silco picks Jinx up and Carrie's her off the bridge, Vi can do nothing but watch as she let her sister be taken away again.

*Timeskip*

The morning light shines a reddish-orange onto the bridge of the attack. Dozens of enforcers, including Sheriff Marcus, are dead on the floor or in the water. The dry blood gives a foul stench to the bridge and various pieces of debris are scattered, some even visible from inside the dead bodies. Jayce and Mel look upon the sight in utter horror. Jayce had never seen such mutilation up close before and vomits off the bridge because of it. When Jayce finishes vomiting, he leans himself on the bridge's railing and looks down to see a robotic insect with wings. It sparks his attention. Mel however, seemed to look upon the sight in worry, or as if she had seen this before.

Scene Change

You boost Vi up to a window, which she opens with her palm. She first opens it slightly but then fully as she jumps up and crawls in. You help boost Caitlyn to Vi and climb up there yourself. You then go back to assisting Caitlyn walk.

Vi: "Who lives here? Another councilor friend of yours?"

All of a sudden, the doors to your side are kicked open and an older woman aims a rifle at you three. It's Cassandra, and this was Caitlyn's house.

Cassandra Kiramman: "Caitlyn! Y/N!?" She says in surprise lowering her rifle.

Y/N: "Hi... Mrs. Kiramman." You chuckle nervously.

Just behind Cassandra was Mr. Kiramman, who seemed to be out of breath.

Mr. Kiramman: "Oh. We were so worried. Thank goodness you're safe!" He says hugging Caitlyn.

Cassandra Kiramman: "And you found a stray."

Caitlyn: "This is Vi. She's from the undercity."

Cassandra Kiramman: "So I see. Could we have a word, Caitlyn? You too Y/N. In private."

You gulp in fear as you walk to the living room right behind Mr. Kiramman, who was helping his daughter. Once you're there, You all take a seat and Caitlyn's dad gets some medical equipment to treat her leg. He puts the various pieces of the robotic firelights on a plate, which gets splattered with blood quickly. It becomes silent for a while before Caitlyn breaks the silence.

Caitlyn: "You have to speak for the Council."

Cassandra Kiramman: "Speak to the council? Do you two understand you broke several laws?"

Mr. Kiramman: "They were doing what they thought was right." He says putting tweezers into Caitlyn's leg, making her groan in pain.

Y/N: "Look, we'll take responsibility,"
