He smiled at me.
"I told you I am a sweet guy, you don't just want to believe that," he said with his hands inside his pocket.
"How will I believe when you keep changing like a chameleon," I told him with my eyes up.
He chuckled " I am making an amendment, that's why I brought you here, so I could apologize for stressing you out days ago," he said.
This is the second time Xavier will be trying to apologize to me. Maybe he is a sweet boy, but what's up with his attitude every damn time? Let's see if he is going to switch.
"Where are we going? we have been walking for more than 5 minutes" I asked him getting impatient I also love the walk too, the cool atmosphere.
"I thought I told you I want to bring you to see nature" he looked at me.
"Yeah" I remembered he did.
I can feel someone staring at me, yeah I can.
I looked at the back, it was the guards guiding their position with their heads upright, I looked around again, but nothing suspicious.
"Are you okay?" Xavier asked me
"Yeah," I nodded.
The thought of someone staring at me came back, maybe it's one of the guards that was surprised to see me here, I am sure no one can harm me here except Xander and Xavier.
"Here we are" Xavier's voice made me stop what I was thinking and looked around where I am.
It was a small space, covered with a blue Canopy, and two wooden chairs, and the ground wasn't tiled like the others, it was filled with sands.
We entered the Canopy and I saw a small tray on the floor. There were canned drinks, candies, and a water bottle.
"Have your seat darling," he said.
"Thanks" I sat down still looking around.
"You like it? "He asked me smiling.
"Yeah, it's cool," I said smiling and looking around.
"Uhmm, it's one of the small places I used for relaxing"
"Oh, it's very nice, you've got a nice place for yourself," I said smiling.
"Yeah, let's see the sunset together," He said pointing in the direction.
This place is the perfect place to see the sunset, I wonder how they got to find this place for themselves, it looks like we are in Done lake boat swim.
He gave me a cold can drink then, "enjoy" he said.
There was a brief silence between us as we gulped down the drink in the can, the sound of the blowing breeze was the only one we listen to.
He broke the silence "Tell me your best experience in high school" he said looking at me.
"Well, my best experience, yeah I was in grade 8 when I won the price for the best student in health and physical education"
"Doctor in making?" he asked me with his eyeball raised
I laughed" No, it was this particular topic that boosted my mark then, you know how to take care of your skin, and health," I told him with a serious face.
"If you aren't going for a doctor then erm you should ...." He said trying to remember a particular word.
I looked at him, not wanting to interrupt his thinking.
"Dermatologist," he said smiling and showing his teeth.
"Oh, true," I said not showing concern.
I don't want to go for any professional work, I want to be a businesswoman, I thought within me. I am in love with skincare, it won't be bad if a own a sink care company but I don't think it can be possible. I don't have money and no education, I will just go for my modest life where I can afford my meals, rent, and clothes.
Period!
"Ava" I heard my name.
"Oh," I looked at Xavier as I jolted out of my thoughts.
"What was my last word," he asked me as if he is my teacher.
I smiled" Dermatologist," I said boldly.
"How did you manage to get a high school certificate?" he said sarcastically.
"Oh, am I not correct?" I asked him raising my eye my brown
"You are wrong than wrong itself," he said folding his arm.
" What was my last word?" he asked me again.
I looked at him not sure of where he is going but "you are wrong than wrong itself" I said slowly.
He rubbed his head, acting like a disappointed father asking her daughter questions.
"Okay, maybe you should say your last word then," I said trying to save ourselves from the stress.
"Why will I say my last word? Huh, Ohh, Good! you are planning to kill me," he said clapping his hand.
At this point, I am confused.
"Kill you?" I asked him, I checked his face he doesn't seem angry but instead, he hid his smile.
"Ava, you said I should say my last word, you are what now? An assassin? Huh?"
"Ohh," I said and burst into uncontrollable laughter.
He looked at me, and he started laughing also. He has caught the virus, and that's it we started laughing.
He held his stomach to try to catch his breath, and for a moment I forgot I am with the maniac almighty, I never knew he has this playful side of him, I love it!
"Ava, what laugh was that?" He said after drinking water from his water bottle. Xavier has his water bottle with his name customized on it just like Freya.
I can't wait to have mine, that's if I will have one.
"Ava's laugh" I gave him a cute reaction.
He stared at me and shook his head, "you are crazy," he said.
"If it's coming from King of craziness, then I will gladly accept," I said.
He started at me with disbelief and his mouth slightly opened.
"So, what was the last word you were trying to ask me?" I asked him so I can know In case of next time.
"You see girl, let me lecture you...Mmm...Mmm," he said clearing his throat like a old man trying to impact morals and knowledge.
"If I say, Oh she is beautiful, and I asked what was my last word?, The simple answer to the question is that you will say "What was my last word" Because that was the last word I said," he said looking at me and giving me the teacher's vibes.
"Ohhh," I said smiling.
"A Cunny question and a cunny answer," I said smiling at him.
He nodded.
"The sun is setting," I said cheerfully like a little girl going to meet her father.
"Yeah, it is," he said with a hint of happiness in his voice.
We watched the sunset as it feels magical. I have never in my life thought I will be watching a sunset with a man, and not just any man, the one that took my freedom away.
I looked at Xavier as he stares at the sunset, It makes his face glow the more.
"Ever watched the sunset before," he asked me still focusing on the sun
"No, it's my first time," I said with a voice that has a deeper meaning.
Of course, It's my first time seeing a sunset, with the first guy that will ever call me sweet names.
I thought within me, as I remembered the way he called me baby, babe, and darling, also seeing the sunset with him.
Isn't it magical and charming?
Of course, It is.
