Chapter 11 || Cancer

It's been a week since Yeah-yeah and Sophia became a couple, and me and Benny. Have been well, how do I put it....., not so good. He's been acting weird lately and I don't think it's a good kind of weird. Lately he's been going to the sandlot first instead of waiting for me and smalls. So me and smalls have been walking together.

"Hey you guys!" I said to everyone. All the boys said hi and so did Sophia, but Benny just ignored me. UCk..ThIs bItCh I thought to myself. I decided just to go to my place and wait till' the end of the day to talk to Benny.

About a couple hours later Benny ended the game and everyone headed home.

"Hey benny?" I asked him.

"Hm?"

"Why have you been ignoring me?" I asked him.

"Oh um I'm sorry, it's just family stuff. It's been a lot for me lately. I found out my little sister has cancer and my mom is freaking out and it's just been on my mind. So I'm sorry if I made you feel like I'm was made at you," he told me while going to hug me.

I hugged him back and told him, "No Benny I'm so sorry for you, you shouldn't be sorry. Thats a lot. I've never told anyone this but, my brother's dad died of cancer, so we don't have the same dad."

"Oh I didn't know that," he said.

"Yeah, my brother gets mad sometimes when he thinks about his dad," I told him.

"Oh" we hug again. Then he kisses my forehead.

"I got to get home for dinner, bye Benny," I told him while walking off.

"Bye y/n,"  he said while going to Mr. Myrtles house.

Bennys pov: °•○⚾️○•°

I had to go to Mr. Myrtles house. He always gives me reassurance. I mean y/n gives me reassurance but she had to leave so I mine as well go to Mr. Myrtle.

"Hello? Mr. Myrtle? Are you home?" I ask while opening to door.

"Ah hey Benny! Come on on, boy," he told me. "What's going on this time?"

"Oh um my sister has cancer and- and my mom is freaking out," I said but I got cut off by Mr. Myrtle.

"Uh-uh-uh! Did you tell y/n?" He asked me.

"Yeah, but there is one thing that I left out," I said.

"Alright it must be serious then, tell me, boy," he said.

"Basically my sister has cancer now and my mom is freaking out a lot, and the thing I left out was that my dad has been coming home drunk and with lipstick stains on his shirt and neck, which means he's cheating so my mom found out. And my mom and dad are gonna get a divorce and my dad is gonna move in with his new 'girl' apparently," I told him.

"Oh boy that's a lot to handle! Why didn't you tell y/n about your dad?" Mr. Myrtle asked me.

"Oh I just didn't want her to worry too much," I said.

"Alright, boy. But you gotta tell her soon," he told me.

"Okay, I will. Thanks Mr. M. But I got to go home bye"

"Bye, Benny."
