Chapter 13 || Tragic

The next day I woke up and no one was home. I saw a note on the counter.

Dear y/n, me and Anna went to the store to go get some groceries we will be back later, Danny.

I got ready and went to the sandlot.

"Hey Benny how are you feeling this morning?" I asked Benny.

"A little better I guess," he said.

"Oh well come on let's go play," I said while running to bat. He just laughs and goes to get the catcher gear.

After a couple hours of playing we all decided to go to the diner to get something to eat.

All the boys order then it comes down to me.

"Oh um I'll just take a water. I'm not that hungry," I said while scratching the back of my head.

"A-are you sure?" Benny asked me. I just nodded my head.

After the diner me and Benny walked home but we saw blue and red lights at my house. "Oh my god what did Danny do now?" I sighed. "I have to go Benny bye!" I said.

"Alright. Be careful!"

I walk inside and see Danny and Anna crying.

"You must be y/n l/n," a girl cop said.

"Ye-yeah...uhm what's going on?" I asked her.

"Sadly your parents plane didn't make it. It crashed in the middle of the ocean," she told me.

"W-what....?" I ask while my eyes start tearing.

"I'm sorry y/n," Anna told me while trying to grab my hand. I just pushed her away and ran upstairs to my room. I cried so much that I threw up. But what did I throw up if I didn't eat anything? I threw up blood... I didn't want to tell anyone so I just stayed in my room.

I was mad. I don't know what I was mad at. I can't be mad at my parents since it wasn't their faults. So I was mad at myself. I punched my mirror and it broke into pieces and my knuckles were bleeding.

"Y/n?! Are you okay?" I heard my brother say while running up the stairs. I just stayed quiet and sat down on my knees. "Oh my God-...y/n what happend?" Danny said while looking around the room to find shattered glass. He looked at me and ran up to me. I was zoned out the whole time. I could hear him talking but I just ignored it. Then Anna came into the room with bandages and she cleaned up my knuckles then bandaged them like a professional. She was in college studying to be a nurse but she had to take a break because of the baby. "I don't think she should go to school for a while," Anna told Danny. They both agreed and went to the kitchen to talk about what they should do now. I just fell asleep on the floor.

The next day I didn't go to school so I decided to go hang out at the sandlot for a while. I just sat in the dugout thinking and thinking. What could have happend if they didn't go out of town? What would have happened if I had decided to go with them? They did ask if I wanted to go with them but luckily enough I said no.

I was at the sandlot for a good 2 hours then I heard the boys chatting and walking to the sandlot. I decided to sneak away from the sandlot because I didn't want to talk to them for a while. I think I just need some time for myself.

I think Benny saw me leaving because about 2 hours after I got home he was knocking at my house door. Danny and Anna were at their friends house because they wanted to do something to get their minds off of the situation. So I was the only one home.

I decided just to go answer the door because if I didn't then that would just be rude.

"Hey y/n why did you leave the sandlot earlier?" He asked me.

"Oh I just didn't want to talk to the boys today cuz of....reasons," I told him.

"Oh uhm can I come in?" He asked. I nodded then let him in. "So what happend last night," he asked me.

Just the thought of knowing that my parents aren't here just makes me cry.

"Dont cry it's okay," Benny said while hugging me. He asked me what happend so I told him what happend last night. "Oh I'm so so so sorry y/n," he said while frowning. "Do you want me to stay here with you? Do you want to watch a movie? I can get us some snack!" He said. I just laughed at him.

"Yeah that would be nice," I said with a little smile. We watched the movie and we fell asleep on the couch.

Authors pov:
After you and Benny fell asleep on the couch, Danny and Anna got home.

"Awww they look so cute together," Anna whispered to Danny.

"Yeah they do," Danny said while smiling.

You woke up in the middle of the night and realized you were in Benny's arms. You blushed and went back to sleep.

The next morning you woke up Benny at 7:30 a.m because he has to go to school.

"I'm not gonna go," he said in a kinda sleepy voice.

"Alright then," you told him.

Later you guys finally got up and got ready to go to the sandlot. No one was there, of course, because there was school. You and Benny just practiced a little until the boys got there. They all seemed happy to see you. You could tell that they had been worried for not seeing you or Benny at school today.

"What happend?"

"Why weren't you guys at school?"

They just kept asking questions....

All the questions were overwhelming you and benny could tell so he just grabbed your hand and signaled the boys to stop.
